Nice! Mavs talking about:

Ellis would stay another year to get the big money next season and Chandler would resign for 5y 50m starting at 8, 7m.

Having Chandler, Nowitzki, Parsons, Ellis and Harris with 45, 3m salary and approx. 22m cap having Felton and Powell in addition.

Mavs would draft a player that Porland wants with the #21 pick and having a sign and trade deal with Portland the money works and Portland get something back:

Portland:
-Powell
-rookie #21 2015

Dallas:
-Aldridge (5y 110m, starting at 19m)
-Matthews (2+1y 26m, starting at 8, 3m)

Third team:
-Felton
-rookie of the 2nd pick 2015

Mavs resign Amniu at MLE (2, 8m 1+1y) and Barea, Jefferson, Villa and maybe STAT for vet salary.

Chandler, Aldridge
Aldridge, Nowitzki, Aminu
Parsons, Aminu
Matthews, Harris
Ellis, Harris, Barea

I don't see Portland facilitating a deal to send two of their starters to Dallas. If you want them, figure out how to deal with the cap or trade a real asset to make the cap work.

If Portland doesn't want to cooperate with a sign and trade and takes Dallas out of the options for both of them it makes resigning them easier.

If Portland doesn't want to sign and trade it doesn't work. It is that easy.

But, consider, Mavs could sign Aldridge 4y max and trade afterwards Felton and Powell to a team to sign Matthews up to 10,5m in year one, e.g. 3y 33m.

Afterwards they have still their rookie #21 and Ellis to trade for Bledsoe or Laswon.
