If the CP3 experiment in Houston isn't going as planned at the deadline, maybe this trade would make sense.

Cavs get Chris Paul and Clint Capela

Rockets get Tristan Thompson, Isaiah Thomas, and the Nets pick

The Cavs add an elite playmaker to a squad already featuring two excellent playmakers in LBJ and D-Wade, and now they own 3/4 of the banana boat quartet (with Melo possibly hitting the market next summer). Paul's presence would take a ton of playmaking pressure off LeBron and would allow the King to focus on scoring, rebounding, and efficiency. Capela also provides a great young center to replace TT. CP3/Wade/LBJ/Love/Capela

If the CP3 experiment isn't working out, the Rockets would be wise to get value for him after everything they gave up for him. The Nets pick will almost for sure be a top five pick in what looks to be a very talented class, meaning the Rockets can add a blue chip player for Harden to mentor. Thompson is already signed long-term unlike Capela, so they won't have to worry about signing a big contract next summer. I'm not sure about IT's long-term status in Houston considering his defensive woes, but he could make a great 6th man or possible backcourt complement to Harden.

No way the Cavs aRe trading that pick in a deal for that. That's terrible for them.

say cp resigns along side lebron. might not be such a bad caveat to trading the nets pick. and who needs IT when u have CP. i can see the logic in this deal.
