With Middleton's contract and age, he probably has more value than Horford.

I don't like it for the C's, if feels like a knee jerk reaction to Heyward's loss. They have wings, but are already short in the front court. Monroe is a reserve, whereas Horford is a quality starter.

The only good thing here would be the C's would get out of Horfords contract which could open the door for another trade at the TD, possibly M Gasol if they don't think they'd be able to acquire Boogie or AD.

Billj, Gasol is to old to fit with what the Celtics are doing. Now with the Hayward injury, I think what little chance there was that Boston would go after Cousins is probably gone. I think they'll wait it out to see if Davis is available come next year.

Gasol would just be a player to help make the #'s work for the most part, but he could also help the C's if by chance they go into the 2nd rd. of the playoffs.

Billj, I think Memphis would want something fairly significant for Gasol. I don't think it would be worth it for Boston to give up assets for him. Especially if they still have their eyes on adding another young big man (AD, KP, Turner, or Gobert would be ideal) .

rk, hopefully when Morris comes back he'll help spread the floor. But right now they need a big. With the loss of Hayward I really can't see the C's being any kind of threat in the East now. And also can't see any deal for one those bigs unless Brown or Tatum is involved with multiple 1st rd. picks.

Trading Bradley is going to come back and bite DA in the butt, KO will be missed as well.

Agree BillJ, and since they don't have much of a chance, Getting some assets for Horford and shedding his huge contract could set them up to go after a young dominant big man in the future. If they can land a player like that that is young enough to wait out the Warriors, they would have the pieces in place to make an eventual run at a championship.
