The Cavs get Noah, 2018 pick swap top 5 protected, 2020 Knicks 1st lottery protected, and Jarret Jack

The Knicks get Frye, Shumpert, Calderon, a Cavs 2nd and Zizic.

If Knicks are in clear the books mode i guess this works well Does Thompson slide to PF and start or does he or Noah come off bench?

Noah comes off the bench. I wouldn't assume he could give more than 15 minutes a night and there is no way either TT or Noah starts over Love.

I’d still like to understand what the Knicks fans want. Why would you pay such a high price to unload Noah? Are you assuming you sign a star in free agency next offseason? If you don’t, it seems like you just let go of assets for nothing.

I totally forgot about Love when i made that post. That being said i like the move for Cleveland still. I don't see it as bad for NYK either.

It's horrible for the Knicks. They aren't going to keep up this winning ways much longer. They have had a pretty easy schedule with a lot of home games. Their pick will still be in the lottery in a supposed load draft class. Noah isn't hurting anything that they are doing in the short term and this deal hurts their long term.

Noah won't be getting traded any time soon. Most likely if the Knicks really want to get him off their books they stretch him.

Larry legend, multiple sources have said that the Knicks are looking to move Noah and in this trade they only lose one pick and the protection on the picks keep the Knicks from losing out on a high lottery pick. I don't see the Knicks making the playoffs this year, but they look a lot closer than anyone could have guessed. I think stretching him would be a terrible idea. Once they're a playoff team they'll need that cap space. Plus, we all know Dolan isn't going to rebuild for long.

This is a good trade for NY.
They propably don't make the playoffs, so they keep the pick and they have the capspace for a good free agent.
