Last year i made this trade:

Philly: Ingram+ dropping the protection on the LA pick

LA: B Simmons

So Philly would have the 2nd and 3 rd pick, drafting Ball and Tatum

Philly:
C: Embiid
PF: Saric
SF: Tatum
SG: Ingram
PG: Ball

LA sent a future 1rnd pick (they own the 2018 pick) to the Nets with Mozgov for B Lopez

LA:
C: B Lopez/ Zubac
PF: Kuzma/randle
SF: Nance
SG: Russell
PG: B Simmons

Should they do this trade, if they could redo it?

I think the Nets and 76ers both would have passed. A future pick wasn't getting rid of Mozgov and bringing in Lopez. Maybe, they could have done Ball or Ingram, but not just a future pick. Also, the 76ers seemed 100 percent convinced that Simmons was a star last year. There is no way that he was getting trade for something like a few spots in the draft.

Simmons is a stud.
But adding the trio Tatum, Ingram and Ball to replace him must be temting.

I believe the Nets would do this move. Mozgov is on a big contract, but it's not close to a max deal. The Lakers pick is going to be a lottery pick and the Nets have time. Russell is having a great year, but he's already playing for a big contract. So the pick, would give the Nets time for a descent rebuilt.

That all depends on how much you believe Ainge. He claims that he would have picked Tatum with the #1, so the picks would likely have been either Fultz and Jackson or they would have traded back. I doubt that Philly would have traded up (using the #2 and the 2019 Kings in this scenario) to get the #1 for Fultz since they could have one of him or Ball at 2 guaranteed.

Either way, I don't think Philly does this with as high as they were/ are on Simmons.

Simmons is untouchable. That’s one hell of a package, but Ben is averaging 18/ 9/ 8 without an effective jumper. Once he gets confidence from 15 to 18 feet with his jumper he will be an elite player. He has the potential to have a Lebron Esq impact on the Sixers. None of Ball, Ingram, or Tatum have that kind of ceiling.
