Why would you give up two firsts for O'Quinn and Baker?

Gasupo bitter Cavs fan trying to take a shot at Lakers, bc LeBron is done with his city.

Why give up two firsts to unload Deng when you’re not signing significant free agents this offseason in this scenario? That doesn’t make sense.

First, i'm a pacers fan, not a cavs fan.
Second, everybody Always says, it take more than one draft pick to ship Deng and his contract. Deng Has a contract for three more years, so trading him, gives them flexibility in the future.
And third, i believe LBJ go's to Houston.

If the signing of Lebron/ Cousins/ George hinges on trading Deng, I would think that the trade makes sense. If it takes two firsts to unload him and there’s those signings lined up already, I would be on board if I’m the lakers. The thing that doesn’t make sense to me is that they don’t sign anyone with that money. The longer they hold onto Deng, the less it takes to offload him. Unloading him in the summer of 2019 with only one year left is pretty easy any maybe only costs second rounders.

I have hard time seeing HOU dumping Anderson, and signing Paul, and figuring out how to keep Ariza, or don't, and sign James, and sign Capela. Deng only has a deal for 2 more seasons, and the rest of this one. Deng, if it's true, and he does want to play still, could agree to an extension, which would restructure his deal out to 5 seasons, and pay him less per year. Maybe the MIN, or DAL would then bite. It would be about 7 mil a season then if extension, and restructuring were to happen. Throw in Randle, or a pick, and it's palatable. Everyone has been wrong on here about pick values. Including me. Hoods value as well.

@jorgawood i think they would have to find a deal where someone takes anderson and gordon (i know, tough, 34 mil in salary. lebron s+t? )
cp and lebron take paycuts (split about 50 mil), float capela cap hold (only like 6 mil) and sign him on bird after lebron

in terms of this lakers scenario, i like everything except giving IT 30 mil. he is worth about 15 (he will be lonzo’s backup) and you can't be a 5-9 sg.

Gasupo is an Indy fan. He says that quite often.
