Cavs off-season if Lebron leaves.

Try to get a sign and trade for Lebron. If he goes to Houston, Gordon, Anderson and 2 1sts for Lebron. Then shop Gordon for a 1st.
If he goes to the Lakers. 3 1sts and Deng for Lebron or 2 1sts, Deng and one of the Lakers lesser prospects like Hart.

Shop Love for a mid level prospect, a first and try to shave some money off the cap. Preferably, they get the deal done before the season. They need to tank to get their own pick next year.

Resign Hood.

Take on bad contracts and young assets for Hill's contract.

Try to trade Korver to save money and buy out Jr Smith.

Scour the g league and etc to fill out the roster with marginal young free agents. Also, be willing to Hood and Clarkson for the right price at the deadline.

I'd take the picks over Barnes. The Cavs need to make sure they're bad enough to get the pick they traded to the Hawks the next 2 years. Barnes is a good player, but he doesn't look like an allstar and the Cavs won't be anywhere near a team that can get out of the 1st round. He isn't worth potentially 4 picks including the lottery pick that they would lose. The Cavs need to embrace the process if Lebron leaves. It's the only way to build a contender in a small market.

No way they get that package from Houston in a sign and trade deal. Anderson 1st and 2nd rounders more likely.

Tonch, they would have to give up Gordon and Anderson just to match salaries to get Lebron. If they cleared cap space any other way, they would have to trade Gordon and Anderson plus renounce the rights to Capela and Ariza. If they have serious interest in Lebron, they can't get him without a sign and trade or Lebron opting in and being traded. The Cavs would need a pretty solid package to get back since taking back more than 10 millionish would keep them in the luxury tax.

the anderson+gordon deal makes sense. lakers s+t is unnecessary and cavs should have no interest in taking deng. maybe if lakers resign and offer kcp and lopez it could happen.

Dona for 3 1sts, it would be worth it. It wouldn't be hard for them shed enough money to offset taking on Deng. At worse they could stretch JR and it would get them under the tax treshold.
