Swap Collins with swanigan. Barnes is nice, but not worth a first and a promising recent lottery pick.

Bmiller, I think you have to factor in the cost of getting rid of Turner's bad deal. Swanigan and a 1st isn't enough to swap Barnes for Turner. I like this deal. Portland seems to be 1 big piece away from being a really good team.

That’s fair, but I wouldn’t give up the only decent young prospect on the roster for a nice upgrade. If it was someone like George or k Leonard, obviously yes. Barnes just isn’t enough of a difference maker.

Maybe the solution is swapping Turner with Harkless and Aminu/ Leonard. Two smaller contracts are easier to unload than one huge one.

I believe Barnes would fit great in that Portland team, he could be a borderline all star. So i would take the gamble, if i were Portland.

It still blows my mind that Portland of all places thought Turner would be the guy spend on. No matter what team you're looking at, he's not worth that kind of cash, but especially not Portland. It's like they looked at his stats, saw he was listed as a SF, and said, that's the guy.

Turner needs to be on a team where he can operate like a ball handling guard with shooters around him. He worked that role to perfection with the Celtics, because Stevens actually knows how to use his players. He's not your typical PG right now as he can't shoot the three, but surround him with shooters, and let him work the mid range game, and he will produce for you.

Barnes is no star. POR needs to dump their long term overvalued guys. Not add one, and lose their budding future. Barnes is solid, not worth his money. Especially in POR, where his money would requires serious output.
