Kanter will not "walk". The only reason he is talking about possibly opting out is if the Knicks agree to a long term extension with him. He loves NY. He will either sign his $16million PLAYER option with the Knicks or opt to sign out in order to sign long term with the knicks. Please get this idea of "Let Kanter walk" out of your head. It isn't happening.

It's almost 19mil. All the more reason Kanter will exercise his option. It's his last big pay day. End up in a deadline trade maybe.

jorgawood Kanter is expected to decline his option. His agent has even approached the media and said so. Hamburger is right. he is just entering his prime and became an elite double double guy on the Knicks. that will get him 18 million+ now due to the revenue increase.
