Lakers plan.
After season trade three first round picks Ball, Ingram wagner and Deng expiring contract for Davis. Lakers will have cap to max out Leonard. And like twenty more to spend. With James at 35 Leonard and Davis would be 2020 champs

Not enough for Davis. Ingram, kuzma, Ball, and Hart plus multiple firsts is the minimum offer (that would still be rejected) .

Don't go there bro.

The only way Davis or any player worth that value, is when they in there rookie contract. You don't give up multiple young players with lots of potential for a player with two years left. Pacers didn't get half that for George or spurs downgraded getting derozan. What superstarr was traded and the team got multiple picks and got young players with lots of potential. What about melo denver got a lot of players with low potential. Look what magic got for Howard. Ball and Ingram plus 3 picks is enough for Davis especially ayer this year completely done.

Name a superstarr who got traded and the opposite got 4 players with star like potentially

shaq, what did they get when they traded him. No where near 4 young players and 3 picks.

Shaq was a free agent signing.

Teams don't trade top 5 players in the league.

Ingram, Kuzma, Ball, HArt - you consider these 4 players with star potential? that's cute. No one else does.

Name a superstar that got traded with multiple years left on their deal in recent memory.

You might not give up that much, but teams also don’t give up superstars that aren’t on expiring deals either.

Shaq got traded to Miami.

Blake Griffin got traded with 5 years, harden got traded at rookie, derozann with 3. After this year Davis will have two years left with player option. So basically expiring contract. Like I said after seasonn trade. The package I put together is better then what the Bulls got for Butler expiring deal, better then Chris Paul, Paul Georgeand Blake Griffin with 4 years Left.

Shaq was 32 and that was 14 years ago (not what I'd call recent memory for trade history) .

Supermax deals also didn't exist then, so retaining superstars wasn't as easy as it is now. Different era of contracts/ cap.

I'd say the Melo deal is similar. There were a lot of high value guys in that deal. Just because none of them turned into stars doesn't mean there wasn't a lot of young talent. My guess is that in 5 years, you say the same about those 4 Lakers. A lot of talent, but none really turned into a true star.

And you have to beat Boston's potential offers. I think they'd offer Tatum and Rozier (as much as Boston fans don't want to believe it), which beats just about anything LA can try.

Yeah, to try and make an argument based off shaq at the tail end of his career, awesome.

Harden got traded on a rookie contract? that's your example? The thunder were unable to workout a contract extension for a sixth man averaging 16pts, and played no defense. They got 2 1sts and a second, 2 players, and that was for a non-established "star" Derozzen got traded. FOR A BETTER PLAYER.

Point is, it doesn't happen. Especially not for a package as little as you are suggesting. Davis is a flat out, established, stud. Top 5 player in the league. you're trying to convince everyone, and probably yourself, that Hart has star potential. A guy who is 23 and averaged 7 pts, not really a "star" in the eyes of anyone who watches basketball.

Howard and Paul where top five players when traded. The cap is different and the super max is but the ratio is about the same. Like when cap was 80 mil a max could get the same 30-35 percent of cap. So no big difference. After Hart kuzma ball and Ingram play with james there going to blossom. So top players on expiring deals don't get traded which is what Davis will be next year like when the trade take place. Butler, Leonard, Paul, George, Howard, d will, love, all on expiring deals and either team got a package like 3 first and got 4 young players on rookie contracts with lots of potential. Ingram and kuzma averaged 16 as rookies. b all ten and 7 7 and Hart was not really given a chance but in summer league he stood out so that's potential there.

This is the best i can remember:

I believe the Lakers traded 4 picks for S Nash ( tragedy started in 2012 and ended in 2018

The Suns traded S Cassel+ M Finley+ AC Green for J Kidd

Chris Paul was traded for E Gordon, C Kaman and Aminu ( an all star and two talented prospects in 2011)

Boston traded for Garnett, giving up A Jefferson a future draft pick and the return of the Wolves pick.

K Garnett and P Pierce for the Nets future

The Nets traded for D Williams, giving up D Harris, D Favors, two first round picks and cash.

Lakers traded 2 first 13 and 15 for Nash. Everything else seems close and legit. But my point no where near 4 young potentially players and 3 picks.

Eh, fine, keep Hart, no one thinks he has much potential but Laker fans. Probably be Ingram, Kuzma, Ball, and a first. And again, I don't think NO accepts that offer.

I just don't think the same that you do about those players. They're nice young players, but if I had to bet on the over/ under of all star appearances by all 3 players combined at 1.5, I'd take the under.

I'd want more high end potential for a top 5 player.

13 Aug 2018 21:32:49
I think players reach potential by how there coached like Leonard and Butler. Plus being ateam with great players helps your growth.

Still to much for expiring deal no matter who the player is. Think it's too much because after this year and those players playing with the king will develop better.

16.) 14 Aug 2018
13 Aug 2018 22:39:49
You throw Deng in there too there is no way possible New Orleans excepts this trade! Ingram is the only good piece and I don’t think he will ever be a allstar and ball gets you his dad and nobody wants that person. yes 3 1st rd picks are great but a team with lebron davis and whoever gets you pick 27 if not higher so no from pelicans.

17.) 14 Aug 2018
14 Aug 2018 01:53:54
There still first picks and can be traded with there own pick to move up in draft. Next year Deng will have one year left so he can be waived so don't see no harm especially when you getting two top picks in Ingram and ball plus 3 first.

18.) 14 Aug 2018
14 Aug 2018 03:49:01
Next year when the scenario is taking place Davis will be an expiring contract. This would be good but there would be other deals in play.

19.) 15 Aug 2018
15 Aug 2018 12:07:03
Harden was a zero time all star that had some potential, but no one thought he was an MVP when he got traded.

Blake is breaking down and hadn't been an all star in a couple years when he got traded.

Derozan was traded for a top 5 player. And he's not close to the player AD is, he's not a top 5 player.

Davis' value drops when they offer him a supermax and he doesn't take it. At that point, every team in the NBA will call and offer something. LA has to beat EVERYONE in the NBA. Ingram, Ball, and a handful of picks 27-30 doesn't seem like the best deal anyone in the NBA would offer.
