Portland would say no. They would lose some cap flexibility and I think the Blazers could if they win, attract a free agent with nearly 40 mil coming off their books after next season. Porter hasn't been consistent offensively that I can remember.

That is the idea but porter is on a big contract and I don't view or value porter as a 3rd option over Zach Collins, or Nurkic. Blazers can't just Willie-nilly sign somebody because he might be better on their team. That's what happened with Turner! At least Kevin Love would be a clear 3rd option, and I think his contract would bury the blazers but I'd do love first before porter.

Before the season, I would have been all over this for Portland. But with Porter falling off a cliff, and Turner looking like a 6th man of the year, I would pass from Portland.
