Knicks/ Spurs:

To NYK - Gasol

To SAS - Lee, Burke

Knicks are able to move Lee without having to attach draft compensation, and eliminate $6M from next year’s cap by ridding themselves of Lee and buying out Gasol at $6.7M.

Spurs add another 3PT threat, and some additional PG depth.

Go ahead. Cap holds on Porzingis and the first round pick (around $25 mil) will still prevent the Knicks from having an available max salary slot.

Not sure Spurs looking for 3 point shooting (last on league in 3pt attempts, best in league at 3pt %) at the expense of one of their 2 7-footers. Spurs just probably need to shoot more 3s.

Shizee, i did make a minor mistake in calculating the cap space (I used the 2018-19 total salary cap instead of the 2019-20 total salary cap) so there will be barely enough ($33 mil) for one max offer after this trade and waiving Thomas, Gasol, Trier and no QO to Mudiay. This will leave the Knicks with 5 players under contract (Hardaway, Robinson, Knox, Ntilikina and Dotson), 1 QO cap hold (Porzingis) plus the first round draft pick. Half the roster will be filled by vet min players which means the teams bench will have no real depth. Not sure this team even makes the EC finals if Kwahi remains in Toronto, AD ends up in Boston and Milwaukee resigns everyone.
