The clippers are trying to trade Gallo to get his contract off the books for next year. Trading him and bringing in Evan Turner, is pointless. They also have Shai G-A, Jerome Robinson, and Landry Shamet. There is no need for Simons.

1. Turner makes 4 million less than Gallo. If they don't want to give up an asset to move him, this is a decent money saving move.

2. The Clippers need as much young talent as they can get. That's what smart rebuilding teams do, just load up on any talent you can find. Figure the fit out later.

1. the clippers are trying to free up cap space for 2 max free agents. They aren't going to just try and save 4 million when they need more gone. They now have 3 1st round picks that they can use to package with Gallo and save more money.

2. The clippers are trying to land big talent again, they are not in that kind of rebuild that you are thinking. Again, at the guard position they have: Shai, Jerome, Wallace, Shamet, Thornwell. That is not including Lou will, beverley, and garrett temple. Tell me again how it makes sense to add more guards?
