Two lottery picks in a good draft and a 3rd pick hometown guy who is still hung on a rookie deal. It can't be too m9uch more right? I'm not counting Portia as part of the deal.

Portis wouldn't be involved in this trade. He's one of the only players the Bulls have who's a part for the future. I don't hate this trade, but it's a better package for George in my opinion. George is by far the better player, but Butler is locked up. The Bulls don't have to move him unless they get blown away. 5 and 10 plus Okafor is a great starting point, but I don't think it makes them take the leap. It might keep Indy on the phone though.

If i was the bulls i'd keep jimmy because we all know what happen 1999-2003 dark ages in the pit fans don't want that how do we know that pick will turn into a star drafted eddy curry out of the leuage jay williams out marcus fizer ect Chicago is the 3rd biggest market we shouldn't have to rebuild either sell the team jerry or fire garpax because they don't get rebuild or reto. upset bulls fan.

New York and La are both rebuilding. I don't think market means as much as it used to. With rings being the end all be all, I think most players put winning over everything else now.

rkenne_16 is correct that location isn't as important as it used to be. I agree however that Bulls should try to build around Butler which should be possible as they have plenty of cap space.
I guess its kinda what they did when they moved Rose and let Noah walk then signed Rondo and Wade but that team with that lack of shooting never really had a chance. That front office is the issue and I have no confidence that dealing Butler for picks and young assets will change things since the front office will continue to make the wrong decisions.

I think depends on if they keep Rondo (I don't think they should due to his lack of shooting) and if Wade accepts his option (I'm confident he will) . Bulls have a good centerpiece in Butler who can do a bit of everything and a solid starting caliber center in Lopez. I think they could use a secondary scoring option (ideally someone who can shoot) . This shooter would be even more necessary if Rondo and Wade are both on the team since both are non-shooters (although the caliber of player wouldn't have to be necessarily as high) .
Ideally Bulls would get guys like Hayward and Paul but I don't think they have great chances to get them. I think Paul Millsap would be perfect fit for his mix of offense and defense and I think he could be realistically had since Hawks aren't that great and I can't think of any other potential playoff teams that could afford him (maybe Denver) . Ibaka would be a similarly quality pickup. Gallinari and Jeff Teague I think are other less sexy but potential options that wouldn't be bad fits either.
I think Bulls would also be wise to explore trade market. If Melo could be had cheaply (I think he can be) he'd be a fantastic fit giving Bulls one of top scorers in the league. I think also, Bulls would be wise to explore moving #16 pick for guys like Rubio or Bledsoe who are both very good defensive point guards (create a defensive identity with them and Butler) that are on very cheap deals and I think are quite available.
