Walker is a keeper. Shoot for Lamb maybe. That's something CLE has matching talent for.

2.) 06 Feb 2018 05:56:10
Cleveland isn’t sending enough salary out are they? Walker, Batum, and Howard are over 50 million a year.

3.) 06 Feb 2018 06:25:32
Trade works. CAVS go deep into luxury though. CLE has nearly 10 mil in exceptions.

4.) 06 Feb 2018 06:29:51
@bmill correct, it’s about 58 for 48.

5.) 06 Feb 2018 06:46:15
Check the trade on trade machine. It passes.

6.) 06 Feb 2018 11:40:59
Both team should do this.
Cleveland should go all in
And Cahrlotte should start a complete rebuilt.

So the bucks give up 2 starters, for 2 backups? HA HA HA HA! Thanks for the laugh!

2.) 31 Jan 2018 16:27:14
THE CLIPPERS DO NOT WANT THOMPSON! He is only being mentioned because of his contract matching up close to DJ's and he's a big man. He has a terrible contract and it goes against what they are trying to do.

Cavs Pelicans

Cavs receive
Allen
Asik
2019 second round pick

Pelicans
JR Smith

Ritequick24

1.) 30 Jan 2018 04:07:41
Can't believe an Asik trade of any kind is bad for NOP. But, Smith's salary is a killer. As far as players, and play goes Smith could help them. They could use the shooting. Can't see Liggins holding down the fort long term.

Cavs Pelicans Lakers (Cavs attempt for Davis)

Cavs receive
Davis
Deng
Asik

Pelicans receive
Thompson
Crowder
Osman
Clarkson
2018 Nets Pick
2021 Cavs first round
2019 Miami 2nd round from Cavs

Lakers receive
Shumpert
Frye

Cavs take on two horrible contracts and give up a chunk of their future. on in order to gain the superstar to take the Cavs over the top of the Warriors. Even if Lebron leaves Thomas Davis and Love still can contend.

Pelicans look towards a fast rebuild. The gain a young PG in Clarkson and Thompson still can develop along with Osmans potential and Crowders toughness and mentality. Of course the Nets pick is a must have in a trade for Davis and I was even considering throwing the Cavs 2023 first round Pick in the trade as well. A ton of picks for the future.

Lakers simply do this to finally get Deng off their hands. They do lose Clarkson but finally have more minutes for the rest of the youth on the team. Frye deal is expiring and Shumpert has two year but maybe a buyout or can wait it out and decide in he summer.

Pelicans most likely would trade Cousins then as well so as much as I hate it as a Cavs fan but the best option is the Celtics.

Boston Pelicans

Boston receives
Cousins
Allen
2020 Pelicans first round pick

Pelicans Receive
Smart
Brown
Morris
2018 Lakers Pick from Celtics

Bostons abundance of assests makes it easy for them to swap some of it for Cousins in order to keep up with the Cavs while also adding Allen's tough defense and the future Pelicans pick to the assets. Might be over paying a little but Boston can afford it.

Pelicans obviously do this in order to have their own pick and if you combine the Nets pick from the first trade and this Lakers Pick then that 3 potential lottery picks. Also they gain two very good young players in Brown and Smart while toughness of Morris.

Overall with the two trades the Pelicans gain:
T.Thompson
Crowder
Osman
Clarkson
Smart
Brown
Morris
2018 Nets pick
2018 Lakers pick
2019 Miami second round pick
2021 First round Cavs pick

While giving up
Davis
Cousins
Asik
Allen
2020 Pelicans first round pick

I would say that's a really good return and fair for those two and a great restart for the Pelicans

Not nearly enough for Davis even with those bad contracts.

2.) 18 Jan 2018 10:52:41
You know why it took Lebron so long to become a champion and learn how to win: he came to a team where Ricky Davis was the best player. I bring that up to say, regardless if the Nets and Lakers picks are 1 and 2, the Pelicans have no key veterans to groom that young team. Take Cousins for example: no playoff experience. All the talent at his position. No key vet around him. All that’s going to happen is most of those young players are going to walk during free agency or become bench fillers from lack of confidence.

3.) 18 Jan 2018 12:59:06
Hard to see any deal in which the Cavs could get Davis.
As for the Boston deal, the Celtics would have moved on Cousins a long time ago if they wanted him. Reportedly Thomas told Brad Stevens that Cousins was the ultimate PITA, and Boston backed off after that.

4.) 18 Jan 2018 14:56:12
That's not nearly enough for Davis, and way too much from Boston. so it works out great for you as a Cavs fan haha. In all seriousness, there's just no way that Davis to Cleveland is a doable thing at this point. They don't have the kind of trade assets needed to swing that kind of deal and still be a good team. If LeBron was locked up, maybe that would work, but I don't think NO would do a trade straight up for him right now.

As far as Boston is concerned, they're not going to be making any crazy changes this season. They're not going to move their two best defenders who fit Stevens' scheme perfectly to bring in Cousins as a rental. Besides, even if they let Smart leave after this season, Brown and whatever big (likely) they get with that pick are going to be the three of the future, and they still are going to essentially have an offseason acquisition of Hayward. Things are looking up and up and up in Boston.

5.) 18 Jan 2018 15:27:59
Wow! Is that you rkenne? Or just another Cavs fan with yet anotheer LAME trade proposal where Pels give up am All-Star AND a once in a generation all-star for mid level pieces and picks that may or may not hit

Let me help you out. The Cavs will never get Davis. The Cavs have very few assets in the first place. And its only going to get worse after this season

Thats the price you paid to keep your King happy.

6.) 18 Jan 2018 15:51:34
Agree that it would be almost impossible for the Cavs to get a package together that could get Davis and that any package they could put together would gut the team. For the Pelicans to move Davis, the deal would have to be ridiculously one sided to the point of it not being worth it for the other team.

Also agree that the Celtics over pay. Take Brown out and add some of their lesser prospects and it makes some sense, but if they wanted Cousins, I think he would have been their last year. It's not like the Kings paid very much for him.

7.) 19 Jan 2018 09:39:17
But they're getting osman the next franchise player lmao.

8.) 19 Jan 2018 21:54:45
The Wizard of Osman. lol. Yeah that will make the Pels GM pull this lame trade idea trigger.

Cleveland would have to consider this Jorga. The contract situation does create a long term issue but for this season alone. Jordan and Williams would help fix their problems on the court and after this season they would deal with the contracts when Lebron makes his decision. The main selling point in this trade though is the extra pick. Doesn’t matter which first it is. The would still have two first and most likely 2 between 15-25 range that they can either select players still on draft night or package those of another return. The extra pick though is only 5-10 slots back from the Nets pick which makes this deal hard to pass.

Isaiah is not going to get traded guys. Him and Dan Gilbert are as close as Lebron and Gilbert are so I doubt he would let him be traded after all his hard work coming back. At least not this season.

I agree that this trade will need at least the Cavs first if not more but Memphis may actually have interest now in a trade since Conley is opting for surgery.

It’s never to late for a complete roster makeover espically if the Cavs will continue to play like this. I mean they already aren’t going to win and as of now they probably wouldn’t even win the East so if they decide to move 4-6 players I would be surprise/ mad about it.
