Lakers offseason
We land the number two pick and draft ball
With the Rockets pick, we either draft a defensive minded center or point guard
Let young, black, MWP walk
Sign Babbit and resign Robinson

Ball-Russell-Ingram-Randle-Zubac with clarkson and Nance off the bench with some overpaid vets in Mozgov and Deng and let the team develop.

THEKING

1.) 24 Mar 2017 07:18:15
I think Lakers are in a good spot. They can easily just continue with the way things are going and let the young guys develop. Another option for them to consider however is to try and clear cap space and gear up for 2018 summer when George and Westbrook are potentially FA (could trade for them beforehand to get their bird rights and thus more flexibility) . I would love to see this scenario play out and with Magic in charge of things now (A guy Westbrook and George both grew up in Cali watching) and George and Westbrook both having expressed interest in returning to Cali I don't think its too far-fetched. Although Lakers won't be the "contender" George is looking for I think they have the young talent and assets to bring in pieces to put them in the conversation.

2.) 24 Mar 2017 14:37:52
I don't see Westbrook coming. As for George, I still won't believe he's interested in us because it happens every year and no star signs in the summer so I can't believe all the reports that come out now.

3.) 24 Mar 2017 18:01:25
George only want a 200m dollar contract from the pacers and he would play for a contender if he does leave, so propably the Spurs.

4.) 25 Mar 2017 18:49:53
I don't think George gets his $200M, I don't think he'll make an All-NBA first or second team this year or next, so a return to the Pacers is not a guarantee.

I agree that it doesn't mean he becomes a Laker, and I'm not sure about the Spurs either. The PG13 at PF experiment didn't go well, and Aldridge doesn't want to play the 5. Spurs will also need to make the backcourt a priority as Ginobli'ms either gone this offseason or at the latest next, and Parker's game has aged considerably this year.

23 Feb 2017 00:27:16
Darren Collison for Mudiay?

Mudiay and Hield could be the future backcourt while the Nuggets get a better point guard having a nice season.

THEKING

1.) 23 Feb 2017 03:13:54
Maybe not enough for Mudiay due to his age but Nuggets can run for that playoff spot with Collison. Could add a little more.

26 Aug 2016 14:55:06
With all the rumors of wall and beal backcourt possibly breaking up, I expect to hear the Celtics in a rumors regarding one of them.

Celtics trade Bradley, 2018 Celtics first, Zeller, and maybe another first

Wizards trade Beal.

THEKING

1.) 26 Aug 2016 15:17:11
Why would they trade beak a guy they just signed again though.

2.) 26 Aug 2016 15:22:48
Honestly, I don't think Beal has anywhere near this value. He is a great player, but he is never healthy. He averages 60 games a year and is now making a tremendous amount of money.

I personally value Bradley more than beals, straight up. Similar statistical production, but Bradley is by far the more elite defender, stays healthy, and is a fraction the cost.

I think the wizards are going to have trouble snagging a very nice return on beals because of the red flags that everyone knows of.

Do you think Pistons would target Milsap?

Stanley Johnson and Marcus Morris or Harris for Milsap and THJ?

Or Morris/ Harris and 2 first for Milsap?

Jackson-KCP-Harris/ Morris-Milsap-Drummond could make a serious run.

The Hawks rebuild with Johnson and Harris or Morris are still young on decent contracts. Not sure if Pistons would give up Johnson though.

THEKING

1.) 20 Aug 2016 05:41:40
I feel like Pistons should keep their core because they'd lose depth if they did this. They have a good young core that fits well together so they should keep it.

2.) 20 Aug 2016 08:15:44
I think Harris and a 1st is a start Hawks could go younger while Pistons seems looking to compete now and a vet like Millsap could really help.

15 Aug 2016 05:36:01
Minor Deal in December

Wayne Ellington for Devin Harris

Heat get a backup point, Mavs get a shooter since Harris won't be playing much.

Can't stop thinking about this:
If the lakers draft Lonzo Ball, Dlo moves to SG.

Let's say Lonzo shows promise and shows he's our for sure future PG and same with Ingram and shows it next season to be our future SF. What if D-Lo shows he's on the cusp of being a star and average 20-5-5 in 45/ 40/ 80 next year and we sign PG13 in free agency. What do we do with D-Lo if PG takes his spot? We can't just put a rising star like Dlo on the bench. He would get a Huge offer from another team next year, and if we would package him with Randle for a star big, who would be even worth them two in this scenario? There is no star big thay anyone would consider trading right now that would be worth in this case a rising star and Randle.

THEKING

1.) 18 May 2017 18:13:19
Those are good problems to have. I'd imagine George would take Ingrams spot since they are sfs and Ingram based off last season will likely take a few years to develop. Randle will be due an extension in 2018 so that is something else to consider. Cousins is a FA in 2018 so maybe some sign and trade deal is made of Russell and Randle + salary filler for Cousins if the Cousins and Davis thing doesn't work out next season.

If Pistons are still shopping Drummond he is another option that would be young enough to grow with this roster.

2.) 18 May 2017 23:56:12
You are way top up on Russell lol. YOu think he's 20/ 5/ 5 on 45/ 40/ 80?

So he's a top 10 next year?

Stop.

3.) 19 May 2017 04:51:08
I was just saying in a scenario, not that I think he would average that. But it's not out of that far out. Moving to SG gets the ball out of his hands and better looks with Lonzo. And how is that top 10? He wouldn't even be top 25 with his defense.

Stop.

Seen some Heat fans want Whiteside traded. They say he is a black hole on offense, never passes and carelessly turns the ball over and has an inconsistent post game. On defense he is a stat padder to get rebounds and blocks and let's others score for an easy 2. With a team battling injuries and struggling, would you trade him?

THEKING

1.) 13 Dec 2016 11:24:35
Would love him in boston not sure of heats asking price.

2.) 13 Dec 2016 17:03:16
I could see Whiteside going to Trailblazers although not sure how attractive an offer they could provide without giving up McCollum (not sure if they're willing to do that) . I think another great spot for Whiteside would be on the Raptors in a deal centered around Valanciunas (3 yr younger than Whiteside) . Bulls and Hornets could use a guy like him but not sure they have the assets to make it happen. Also, the Pacers if they were willing to deal Turner could use Whiteside to take them to another level.

Fantasy basketball questions

Griffin, Melo, or Wall?

Then should I trade picks 18 and 46 for pick 6 and a late round pick to draft towns, Greek freak, cousins, PG, or Lebron?

THEKING

1.) 17 Oct 2016 08:02:47
I should say John Wall assuming he gets healthy the whole year. He is a a double double machine. Same with Griffin but i think Wall can rebound too. As for the trade, it depends on your 1st round pick. If you can select higher than 6. I should say no because guys like Drummond, Deandre, even Aldridge could possibly be there at 18.

2.) 17 Oct 2016 14:47:24
My first pick is 14th (16 man league) . The only problem I have with Griffin is his injury issues and Wall is the safer pick.

18 Jul 2016 23:40:54
What are non Sixer fans thoughts on Covington? Do you think he would even play on 29 other teams? He shot 38% from the field which is terrible, 35% from three, (which he was supposed to be a "3pt specialist" and has double the turnovers of assists. The only thing solid about his game is defense. Would you even trade a low second round pick for him?

THEKING

1.) 19 Jul 2016 02:34:54
He still has room to grow and I'd say he'd be on almost every NBA team at least as a 3rd string. So yes he's definitely at least worth a 2nd rd pick because of his also very cheap contract for the next 2 years.

2.) 19 Jul 2016 03:17:25
76ers keep him and let him grow.

3.) 19 Jul 2016 14:40:13
Eh, at this point, you have a pretty accurate idea of the player he will be. The big growth is typically the 3rd year. ESPECIALLY when you come out as an older player. He'll be 26 next season, his numbers are pretty much the same minus an increase in rebounding. he's a decent defender, but offensively, he is not a bonus. Too many turnovers, too many shots, not enough points.

Like NBA said, I would assume he'd be a pretty deep bench player on most teams, which is nice to have. But a 2nd rounder is all you could possibly ask for him. He is absolutely not a game changer, at least not in a significantly positive way.

4.) 20 Jul 2016 15:20:37
I say let's see how Ben Simmons makes him better since that's one of Ben's strength.

11 Jul 2016 17:01:51
Congrats to Tim Duncan on an amazing career. Greatest Power forward of all time.

How are you going to say Ingram is incredibly inefficient BMiller?

And for the Lonzo deal seriously? The Bulls would love to give up the 7th pick for a Zo, a guy who plays tremendous defense and could help set up the rest of the team. The suns and bulls want him for a reason, it doesn’t make sense for the lakers to give him up for the 6th or 7th pick. It’s not lakers fans pushing for it, it’s fans of other teams.

Don’t know why Wizards would do that. By the way, they don’t even have a GM right now. Adams is a bad contract, Grant is who he is and the two picks will be late picks.

That's too much. I'd rather not trade a lot for him this year. If he doesn't come next year, we keep the young talent we have and move on.

If I was a coach and have a schedule where we have like 7 games in 10 days or something and we have a back to back, is would play my star player (s) around 30-32 minutes the first game and then 20-25 minutes the 2nd game of the back to back since at least the fans get to see those players play. I'm not a fan of players resting games at all, your paid millions to do your job.

They said that the Magic GM didn't want to take the risk that he wouldn't resign. The offer was cousins for Fournier and Vuc or for just draft picks.

I also saw on other sites that Nurkic would whine when he wouldn't start, and was probably a locker room cancer, so now he gets to start for the Blazers.
