Rockets making moves to accommodate Melo by trading Chinanu Onuaku and cash to the Mav's for 2nd rd. swap to open up a roster spot.

1.) 02 Aug 2018 05:26:27
Melo to Houston is all but a done deal. Think he'll start?

2.) 02 Aug 2018 11:36:45
BTEC -- Anthony has made two things clear:
1. He will cause trouble if he doesn't start.
2. He plans to return to his old style of play -- hold the ball for a good portion of the shot clock, then try to create his own shot.
Toss in the usual matador defense where he doesn't bother getting past halfcourt some of the time, and that's a recipe for disaster for Houston. It looks like a step back for the team --stiff price to pay just to give Harden and Paul a buddy they can club with.

3.) 02 Aug 2018 13:32:58
I think Houston will see how starting will go, but then things will turn south and the marriage will sour and they'll trade/ release him.

4.) 02 Aug 2018 13:55:33
Welcome back Super, glad to see you on the Melo hate tour again.

Did Melo accidentally spill his Green beer on you at a St. Paddy’s day party in Boston once? Trying to figure out your blinding and enduring hate for the man.

5.) 02 Aug 2018 14:52:45
I actually agree with Super on this one. Melo has been a great scorer in the past, but he's no longer that guy. The unfortunate thing is he can't come to grips with it. If he ever could wrap his head around it, he still has the physical ability to be a contributor on a championship team, and if anyone can, Paul and Harden should be able to make him realize it. if not, he will be dumped. Those two aren't going to settle for moving backward at this point, especially where Paul is in his career.

Waiving a minimum contract v. s. 25+ mil with a no trade clause is significantly easier with less debate.

Boston trades Brown, Nader, Larkin and Boston's 2019 1st rd. pick

Wolves trade Butler and A Jefferson

1.) 05 Jul 2018 11:03:55
Doubt the Celtics could take on that much salary at this point without making other moves first. Plus, Larkin is a free agent. Other than that, though, it's not far off.

2.) 05 Jul 2018 12:25:25
Three things wrong with this one:

1) Jefferson is not a Wolf

2) Larkin in an FA

3) Take those two out and the salaries still don’t work. Butler is at $21M, Brown and Nader are $7M. C’s don’t have $14M to spend against the cap.

3.) 05 Jul 2018 15:06:25
Your right Tri. I meant Amile but hit the l after the A instead of the .

But think that a couple of players and Brown plus the pick may get him.

Of course some other trades would have to be made to free up some space, like a S&T with Smart for future picks.

But if the rumors are true about Kyrie and Jimmy then the C's would have to explore that Idea. That would for sure get the C's to the finals.

4.) 05 Jul 2018 15:30:12
Wait! I didn't hit the l or the . And yes A Jefferson does play for the Wolves and C's could sign Larkin and then wait to make the trade or they could trow Yabusele in the deal

Trade does work also according to trade machine.

C's already said they would go over luxury tax for a title.

Celtics trade Irving, Brown, Nader, 2019 C's 1st rd. pick, 2019 LAC 1st rd. pick..

Wolves trade KAT, Teague, Tyus jones

1.) 28 Jun 2018 04:39:29
Celts would not dismantle their squad in this way. It's way too many important pieces. The baynes re-signing report recently probably wouldn't be there if they were planning on something like this.

2.) 28 Jun 2018 05:07:52
Not knowing what Kyrie is going to do is a big? mark. They dismantled their squad last season and look how they ended up.

I have faith that whatever squad they have Brad Stevens will steer them to the Conference Finals again and then the Championship Finals.
Teague and Kat are just as good as Irving and Baynes/ Theis/ Williams.

Teague/ Rozier
Tatum/ Smart
Hayward/ Morris
Horford/ Theis
KAT/ Baynes.

3.) 28 Jun 2018 05:54:17
@billj there was a long interview listed today with Stevens. Irving has no plans on going anywhere as of yet. Neither did Leonard this time last year so things can change but Irving thinking about leaving is hype.

4.) 28 Jun 2018 06:09:59
I hear ya Btec, just my opinion. Then I hope they pick up Dwightmare for the year, he's worth the headache if a Championship is obtainable.

5.) 28 Jun 2018 06:25:25
I honestly don't see their need for a center. Kyrie and Hayward and Theiss if all are healthy is a significant roster improvement. Without, they handled the arguably best center in the league pretty well. (embid) . Drafted williams too.

6.) 30 Jun 2018 08:15:47
Bad for both teams.

07 Jul 2017 15:08:13
Bleacher Report just reported Avery Bradley to Detroit for Marcus Morris.

Maybe Crowder is part of a bigger deal for Gasol or another Big.. Either way C's need a paint clogger..

1.) 07 Jul 2017 15:43:17
Initially I didn't like it for both teams but I guess it works for both. Celtics don't get the big man they needed but they get a solid all-around, cheap pf/ sf that could start for them.

For Pistons Bradley gives them the player they hoped KCP would eventually become. Since Bradley is due an extension next season and Pistons already over the cap I assume they don't plan on keeping both so this is likely mean they won't resign KCP. An interesting turn of events since they seemed to be very high on him but I'd be wary about giving him the 20+ mill per year he likely wants too. Moving Morris also opens up some minutes for guys like Stanley Johnson who looked promising in his rookie year.

2.) 07 Jul 2017 15:47:46
Maybe Monroe from Milwaukee for Smart?

3.) 07 Jul 2017 16:36:26
Might want to call Minnesota. Dieng is probably available.

4.) 07 Jul 2017 16:45:16
Monroe for Smart doesn't work after the Hayward signing and with Delly and Smart both being on the roster seems redundant for the Bucks.

5.) 07 Jul 2017 17:51:17
Bucks are looking for another PG, Dellavedova has been playing PG/ SG as has Brogdan Also PG/ SG. GPll will soon be gone, as will Vaughn. Milwaukee is pretty much a "Position less" team. Smart could also be the PG/ SG they are looking for. Boston still needs a center that can take up space. Monroe does that, plus he is also a scorer. But, Boston would also have to give up either another player, or one of many draft picks they hold. to even out the trade.

05 Jul 2017 04:35:19

Crowder and Smart

1.) 05 Jul 2017 04:40:46
Celtics can't afford Vucevic. They have to trade Crowder or Smart to make room to sign Hayward.

2.) 05 Jul 2017 05:25:59
Sure they can.

3.) 05 Jul 2017 06:38:54
for me i want to unload bradley bec his contract is expirkng crowder have a very good cheap contract.

4.) 05 Jul 2017 11:51:59
Needs to be Crowder, because with Brown, Tatum aND Hayward, he is redundant. Plus, with his contact, he is very desirable to other teams. Of course, that doesn't mean that try won't trade Bradley or Smart as well.

5.) 05 Jul 2017 17:37:28
Crowder and Bradley for Vucevic is the move I was looking at as well. Crowder is the odd man out as far as the rotation is concerned, and he's the contract people will want. Both Smart and Bradley are up after the coming season, but Bradley is the one you'd have to move in this trade as he's the one who's contract makes the money work in this scenario. At that point, I think you move Brown into the starting lineup, and keep Smart in his role off the bench. Rozier gets more minutes, and Horford and Vucevic are your primary bigs with Zizic coming off the bench.

I like Super's better also. But only problem is that when they trade Buckets they'll need KAT and without any 1st rd. picks included Wolves let it go in one ear and out the other.

Baynes can't be traded. He signed a 2 yr deal with a NT clause the 1st yr and a player option the 2nd yr. So he can't be traded till next year unless he waived the NT. Boston needs him this year.
