wizards trade: gortat, oubre, meeks (exp), jason smith (exp)
for
deandre jordan

clips get a rising star and gortat makes any team better regardless of the franchise direction

seems obvs for the wiz, they can't pay oubre and they need a player like dj, gortat is the only guy on the current team getting more than 7 rpg, and they need more consistent scoring, opj is not a reliable #3 (more 3+D)

Gortat, Oubre, and a 1st would do it. No need to add Meeks and Smith. The clippers don't have enough roster room for them anyways.

Don't forget the pick LAC is after. Reports say without a pick nothing happens.

wow, clippers trade blake for tobias harris. bradley, and a protected 1st...
if u would have put that trade on here it would have got a lot of down votes...

after a little roster browsing, utah seems like an interesting spot for blake griffin.

clippers get back: mitchell, hood, burks, favors
OR
hood, exum, burks, favors, 2018 first

can't see them trading Mitchell, but i like the second one.

so this hilarious clippers proposal targeting KAT for a package centered around blake got me thinking in a different direction...
if AD really is untouchable (for the sake of discussion) should the celtics move on to KAT as their next target? (assuming he isn't out of play like we are saying AD is)
depending on who u ask, KAT has potential to be better than AD, so you would think what the c's would offer would be similar...
also, KAT is still on his rookie scale contract thru next season, so u don't have to include big money (horford) to match salaries like with AD.
lets say they get the lakers pick, offer brown but leave wiggle room to upgrade that to tatum if the wolves hesitate, anything else from either side for salary matching would be arbitrary...
am i on to anything?

KAT seems like one of the least likely players in the NBA to get moved. He's on a good young team, still on a
rookie scale, is Minnesota's only starting caliber center, is controlled for likely 5 more years, Minnesota has other young valuable pieces to swing trades with like Eiggind and he has already proven to be a star in the NBA. Tatum has been a high level 3 and D player that has the potential to be a lot more, but KAT has already flashed MVP potential in his career. I think the most likely younger allstar Big to come available would be Gobert.

2.) 13 Jan 2018 05:49:16
@rkenne sure, everything u said makes sense. but i'm asking u to accept my hypothetical scenario and evaluate therein.
i agree that KAT should be, as probably is off limits, but we throw AD’s name around in trades like its nothing, so what is the real difference?
so ill put it this way, if minn were to entertain offers for KAT, what would it have to be from boston? u can't tell me the lakers pick if it lands top 5 isn't worth considering, there are 3 or 4 players in this draft that could end up as top 10 guys in the whole league. u attach brown or tatum to that and you have an offer just about any team would have to consider for its best young player.

3.) 13 Jan 2018 10:26:40
Only with McHale as GM :-) :-) :-)

KAT in a Boston uniform would be awesome. But this could only happen when he would be unhappy in Minny

Tatum+Rozier+ 1rnd pick LA+ 1rnd pick Boston 2018 and 2020+ 1rnd pick Memphis 2019
I could see this package work, if the LA pick could bring Ayton to Minny (and maybe Young)

4.) 13 Jan 2018 12:34:09
Agree with Gasupo. If they were open to moving him it would take a huge package. Tatum and LA pick alone wouldn't do it.

blazers get: boogie, ajinca
pelicans get: harkless, leonard, collins, future first

blazers need to do something to escape the middle of the western conference swamp.
and i could seriously see boogie resigning in portland (they get his bird rights)

With they way Collins has looked, the fact that the first would most likely be pretty late once it converts and this doesn't help them save money, they would almost be better off letting Cousins walk. If they ship him, they'll get better offers than this.

2.) 05 Jan 2018 15:37:11
POR may be middle now, but they are going to be fighting for 8 come seasons end. This trade would change that. I don't see POR as a different or better situation v. s. N. O. Portland fans criticize Boogie too. Always have gotten some negative response on here about Boogie from POR loyalists. Trade looks fair, maybe a little more incentive for N. O. Would be needed.

i think this trade would be most likely to happen later in summer 18 or before the 19 deadline. so if kawhi doesn't get his extension by start of next season. his trade value could be similar to what pg’s was, it kinda depends how he comes back this year and his impact in the playoffs. the later the trade happens makes things more interesting for what the lakers offer.

deng’s last contract year is 19/ 20 so the closer to that, the less “sweetening” required. also ingram would be up for extension that would kick in for 20/ 21 season i believe, so that is 20+ mil a season for multiple years, so that starts once deng expires, spurs wouldn’t ever be paying both at once. also, if lakers don’t get any stars in FA, i think ingram could breakout next year, honestly i wouldn't trade him period.

but i'd say one first lightly protected would be fair (pg trade was for two good young players, no picks and oladipo was already on his extension payscale)

the anderson+gordon deal makes sense. lakers s+t is unnecessary and cavs should have no interest in taking deng. maybe if lakers resign and offer kcp and lopez it could happen.

^true, pels are nervous about lux tax. and i don't think they give boogie max unless they have to match if another team does. i'm not even sure what he is worth now, the reality is nobody comes back 100% from an achilles.

@true99 i'd keep ingram regardless of if u can get lebron, pg, kawhi, butler. the way the league is moving, wings are invaluable and u can do just fine without a traditional big. and ingram will be an all star. come 2019-20 whiteside and dj (both 30+) won't give u close to the same value as him.
