repost from BR, i like this one best of all the 5 they proposed.

LA: matthews, noel, ferrell, 19 2nd
DAL: dj, brice johnson

plus, dj to dallas is just satisfying haha

sign Ellis for vet min if he's even still relevant.

2.) 30 Nov 2017 21:53:41
not a fan of any of the 5 from bleacherreport. this one gets the clippers a terrible contract in matthews, an expiring contract in noel, and a backup pg. when they could just keep dj and his expiring contract.

3.) 30 Nov 2017 23:04:08
Gpack, I think your expectations for a Jordan trade are way to high. I think this trade makes far less sense for the Mavs than the Clippers.

4.) 01 Dec 2017 14:59:43
How so? Jordan was an all nba center 2 seasons ago and has been top 2 in rebounding the past 3 seasons. If the clippers are trading him, its to get assets for the future and shed salary like wes johnson to package him with. Otherwise, they can let deandre walk after this year and shed salary. I doubt they would be willing to trade Deandre and take on bad contracts only to get a protected 1st that they won't get to use for 2 or 3 years.

5.) 02 Dec 2017 09:11:32
The Clippers have almost no young assets, a missing pick and will have trouble finding players to spend any money they shed on. Jordan is a former allstar, but on the offensive end he's a limited player, on defense he's a great shot blocker but struggles on the perimeter and he's potential rental. Look what other stars have been traded for recently. He isn't going to net them a package even as good as George or Cousin's.

You're also acting like Mathews and Tristan Thompson are Deng or Noah. They're guys who are slightly overpaid, but they aren't guys that you would have to attach a first to to move them. They're both better than anything the Clippers will be able to bring in at this point in free agency. Especially, Thompson given his age and ability to fill the hole left by Jordan.

Spurs need to be giving up more.

2.) 20 Nov 2017 00:23:36
I don't think Portland would want Jordan and the clippers should get something extra.

3.) 20 Nov 2017 03:11:16
Jordan and Nurkic would be a bad fit together. And Jordan is an expiring contract while McCollum has 5 years left. McCollum has a lot more value than Jordan.

4.) 20 Nov 2017 03:13:54
@rkenne was thinking that, but what else do they really have to give up. that’s why i included the 1st.

Come on, no where near enough.

2.) 19 Nov 2017 15:29:51
I'm baffled on how I could be getting disagrees on this. Jordan is an elite defender and rebounder in the NBA and a borderline allstar. There is no way that the Clippers are going to trade him for 26 year old sf, who at best is a low end starter, but probably comes off the bench for most teams. A 27 year old niche center that is a low end rotation player and a late 2nd that could be bought. There's no upside there, they save a fairly minimal amount of money and they would be better off letting Jordan expire and using the cap room to go after an impact player or using his contract as an expiring to bring in young talent.

3.) 19 Nov 2017 19:50:10
only reason i valued jordan so low is because he’s a flight risk, especially if the clips keep on their current pace. this would be a deadline move if they can't get anything better. maybe include a third team.

4.) 20 Nov 2017 16:43:55
No disagreement here. That is way too little to get for Jordan.

news is okafor could force a buyout, so philly should trade him now for just about anything they can get...

I thought they could possibly get a late first out of him, but that seems to have been to optimistic. If he's asking out and they didn't pick up his option, he's worth almost nothing. At best another 2nd round pick for a team that has most of the 2nd round picks in the NBA already.

2.) 01 Nov 2017 12:16:03
Sorry Philly fans, with the decline of his option (right move), and his request for a buyout, there is no deal out there for Okafor that includes a pick.

Maybe an underperforming vet with a couple of years left on his deal, but I can't see Philly wanting to do that.

3.) 01 Nov 2017 13:57:03
Which Okafor aRe you talking about? Emeka or Jahlil? Both aRe with Philly, although Emeka is with their D league team. Not sure how Jahlil can force a butout, but pretty sure Emeka could.

4.) 01 Nov 2017 16:23:01
id do the buyout if i'm philly, cut my losses on okafor rather than probably trading him for a bad contract that will tie up the books, even if u could get a pick out of it. i wouldn’t even mind giving him most of his 5 mil (but likely closer to 3) owed this year, he is an afterthought for the sixers at this point. phil would have to get offered something by a team that wants him that doesn’t like their chances at okafor if he hits open market. (or a team that has no cap space, think miami, portland, toronto. but then youd think phil might have to give something else up)
so yeah, just give him the money.

to get conley, i think they got to include either harris or murray. especially since that pick won't be top 10.

makes enough sense for both team, rolo and gobert could be a nice 1-2 down low.
hood could be a nice acquisition for chi’s rebuilding core. jazz might have to add something else, maybe jerebko.

echoing some previous responses, i don’t think this is a move u make mid-season, the c’s are just playing too well right now. tatum would prob have to be included in a trade too. if AD can be gotten next offseason or the year after, the c’s would have to really contemplate the pros/ cons. obvs AD is a once in a generation kind of talent, but u don’t necessarily want to dismantle a contending team if that’s what it will take to bring him in.

no. gs isn't demolishing their bench for a gamble on dj, gs isn’t making any trades honestly.

i got to say, bad move for philly. what is the incentive here? i see booker as an expiring for their cap room, and they give up staus and a pick?
they shouldve just let jah walk at seasons end.
