Potential trades where sixers get picks for salary dumps.

1) Phi-NYK
Phi trades: 47th overall pick
Phi gets:Jose Calderon, 2018 top 10 protected 1st

Sixers get a future 1st rounder from the Knicks, and with their serious need for playmaking and floor spacing, Calderon would be a very solid 20 minute a night role player for them. Knicks dump Calderon who is making close to 8 mil this year and next year, and even add a mid 2nd round pick who could help them next year(considering they were starting Amundson)

2)Phi-Bos
Sixers trade: future protected pick(that they'll never have to give up) needed to make trade work
Sixers get: Gerald Wallace, 16th pick

Sixers take on Wallace's awful contract that has 2 years left for a mid first round pick, while Boston who has a ton of picks clears nearly 11mil in salary which can be used to try and add a max contract player like Love.

3)Phi-Sac
Sixers trade: Jakarr Sampson, 58th pick
Sixers get: Jason Thompson(or Carl Landry), and a 2018 first round pick

Sixers add yet another future first round pick, and Thompson would be a decent 3rd or 4th big for them. Sampson is on an extremely team friendly non-guaranteed contract and would be a decent 11th or 12th man in George Karl's uptempo system, while they free up about 6 mil in cap room in a make or break off-season. This could give them enough room to add 1 really good starter(like Tobias Harris) or a solid starter and a decent reserve or two.

4) Phi-Dallas
Sixers trade: 60th pick
Sixers get: Raymond Felton, 2018, 2019 2nd round picks

Sixers add a couple of future 2nd round picks for a relatively small expiring contract, but for Dallas that 4 mil in cap savings could be huge in trying to create 1 more title worthy team for Dirk.

5)Phi-GSW
Sixers trade: future 2nd rounder they'll never have to give up
Sixers get: Brandon Rush, 2021 2nd round pick

While a David Lee salary dump would be tempting, I think the Warriors will actually be able to get a small asset for Lee and their pick instead of dumping him outright. In this trade though they dump Rush and his 1.1mil contract, without having to cut him and eat his contract. Considering they'll likely be over the tax this could have a good sized financial saving for their owners while freeing up a roster spot. Sixers get the rights to draft a player that's likely in middle school right now. Seems like a move both would be willing to make.

Tell me what y'all think about these moves

No more 2nd rounders for the Sixers. If they take on salary, it will be for 1st rounders or the right to swap 1st rounders.

I think the only one sixers would go for is option 2. This years #16pick in exchange for taking on Wallace's contract. Only prob is dealing with boston. Don't see any of these happening, but I would say yes to option 2.

JVoug: I'd really like to see the Sixers get another shot in this draft. With the future picks, they can sweeten the pot with the OKC and/or Miami pick and maybe up get near 10, drafting Grant from ND.

That fills the Sixers backcourt with 3 guys at around 6'5": Wroten, Russell, Grant
