I don't see this team as a playoff team. Cousin's is still incapable of carrying a team alone as we see in Sacramento and Kobe Bryant is too old to help carry even half of the load. and if the Lakers have 18 million after taking on Cousin's contract I wouldn't spend it all on 2 role players on Davis and Brewer.

Lakers don't have bird rights on Rondo, you have to be with a team 3 years to use bird rights, 2 years for early bird rights. Ed Davis, Jeremy Lin, Monta Ellis, Rondo are all free agents so those teams can just sign them/those players can choose where they want to play and if the Lakers want to sign Rondo over the cap they can do a sign and trade with Dallas.
