If the Sixers are going to make "noise" this season to lure in BIG free agents, we will first have to make a move that shows where serious about becoming GREAT again.

And as much as i HATE dealing with these teams, these are our easiest avenues of approach.

If Durant is truly leaving OKC:

TRADE#1
OKC - GS - PHI

OKC gets T. Luwawu / D. Saric / R. Covington + Philly`s 2017 1st Rnd Pk (from Lakers)

GS gets K. Durant

PHI gets H. Barnes and GS 2017 1st Rnd Pk

TRADE#2---------------OR--------------
OKC - Boston - Sixers

OKC gets D. Saric / R. Covington / Boston 2017 1st Rnd Pk (Nets) + Jae Crowder

Boston gets K. Durant (S&T) + N. Stauskas

Sixers gets M. Smart / James Young / Demitrius Jackson and OKC 2017 1st Rnd Pk

-----NOTE----NOTE----NOTE---NOTE----
These trades give OKC something in return for losing the talent of KD. Because I`m sure they would rather receive something for him in a sign and trade, then nothing as he signs somewhere else.

1.) 29 Jun 2016 11:16:53
It's either he wants to go or he doesn't.
He would not want his future team to give away a heap of assets to get him when he could sign with them for no loss of assets, the man wants to win, and he would want the team to be in best shape possible and giving assets away isn't going to get him a championship.

2.) 29 Jun 2016 14:02:56
The sixers aren't giving up a high 1st, a lottery in saric. for what, someone they can just likely get by maxing out? makes zero sense for the sixers.

3.) 29 Jun 2016 14:11:42
Ehh. They don't need us to make those deals work.

4.) 29 Jun 2016 14:30:17
Also golden state would still need to drop salary to sign Durant. So this deal is meaningless. And why include okc at all. They have no rights to Durant anymore. They missed their chance to get real value for him.

Sixers Draft day trade possibilities

If we get 1st overall pick, but Lakers get #2 or #3.
Select Ben Simmons 1st overall (PF/ SF) . Noel (C)

Trade J. Okafor to Boston for Smart, Nets pick (3 or 4) and Dallas's pick (17th) and our second Rnd Pk back this year.
with the Nets pick we draft J. Brown, K. Dunn or B. HIeld.
with the Dallas pick we draft D. Valentine, C. Levert.
Or package 17,21-23 (wherever it lands Mia) and 26/ 27 (OKC) to move back up in the lottery to get what we missed on with the first two picks.
Example 1st-Simmons (PF), 4th-J. Brown and then package next three 1stRndPks for B. Beal.

PG I. Smith / M. Smart
SG B. Beal / N. Stauskas
SF R. Covington / J. Brown
PF B. Simmons / R. Holmes
C. N. Noel / J. Embiid /
This is the lineup until players earn roster spots in offseason camps, invites and summer league play.

Starters may round out as.
Smart, Beal, Covington, Simmons and Noel.

1.) 29 Feb 2016 07:35:39
Why would Boston give all of that up for Okafor?

2.) 29 Feb 2016 09:03:47
And why would WAS give up Beal only for that?

3.) 29 Feb 2016 11:43:15
Saric?

4.) 29 Feb 2016 13:31:39
Agreeing here. Okafor has no where near that value. Maybe smart and a late pick. But definitely not also the nets. Just way too much giving the issues with okafors game.

5.) 29 Feb 2016 15:34:12
Okafor should be kept unless it's for a superstar trade. Smart is nothing that's going to help us. The Brookyln pick is just not a difference maker for me. I also don't see you moving back into the lottery with three mid to late firsts.

Only big I'm activity looking to trade is Noel. He's a solid young player I just have better ones ahead of him. Not to mention he proven he can't play with JO. So what makes me think he can play with Embiid?

ALSO. BRADLEY BEAL can't BE TRADED ON DRAFT DAY. he's A RESTRICTED FREE AGENT.

6.) 29 Feb 2016 15:36:04
And to all the people saying Boston wouldn't give up all that for okafor. Think about it like this. It's a in division trade. Those are rare anyway. If Sixers give up okafor to Boston they have to play okafor for the next ten years knowing they had him. Same goes for Boston. They give up smart and the Brookyln pick and have to watch that play out against them. It's a trade that shouldn't happen.

7.) 02 Mar 2016 08:32:22
First. Boston would give that up for Okafor or Noel plus the OKC pick.

Second. Washington would welcome the trade (Sign n Trade) since they have no picks in this draft.!

Third. Saric is inconsistent because of the amount of minutes he receives in Europe. In Europe VETS play and youngsters SIT.!

Fourth. Boston can keep Smart, since both teams are under the cap. Or do you see a Center in this draft with Okafor/ Noel potential like? "I'll wait. " NO U don't.

Fifth. Teams still do Sign and Trades for restricted free agents. I'm just saying.

22 Jan 2016 04:06:06
Why not try this (ONLY IF PHILLY GETS BOTH #1 overall pick and LA pick at #4)

Pelicans and Sixers

Pelicans trade A. Davis, T. Evans and N. Cole

Sixers trade J. Embiid, N. Noel, N. Stauskas, 1st overall pick, Miami and OKC picks

Sixers lineup
N. Cole / T. Evans / R. Covington / A. Davis / J. Okafor. Try to sign B. Beal, N. Batum or H. Barnes during the off season.
Bench J. Grant, R. Holmes, I. Smith, I. Canaan, H. Thompson and C. Landry. (only bring Thompson n Landry back if we can't get good free agents CHEAP! )

neversleep30

1.) 22 Jan 2016 04:29:59
No way. Pelicans would want #1 #4 and Okafor at least.

2.) 22 Jan 2016 05:08:58
Why Norris Cole starting? Why not just draft Kris's Dunn of Jamaal Murray with 4th pick then?

3.) 22 Jan 2016 05:17:01
Pelicans will never trade Brow unless they are forced to. He is an MVP in the making.

4.) 22 Jan 2016 05:38:03
Embiid has less than 0% trade value.

5.) 22 Jan 2016 09:26:35
take out norris cole and embiid and miami pick and add okafor, #4 pick, covington and add ajinca or perkins
sixers lineup: pelicans lineup:
j. holiday/ cole
i. smith/ canaan gordon/ newman
evans/ allen (draft) / jerami grant simmons/ covington/ pondexter
barnes/ saric bender/ rabb (draft)
davis/ holmes okafor/ asik
embiid/ ajinca.

6.) 22 Jan 2016 13:14:00
I don't have much love for the brow as most do but he's is a great young player. I think this is fair value. Pelican can trade one great young big and get an entire line up of great young players.

Noel has been on of the best defensive centers in the league, Embiid could be better then the entire Sixers team. He really does look incredible and healthier this time around. The first overall pick would be huge for the pelican as they already have their first rounder. That two young impact top five players. one probably being Ben Simmons or Ingram. That would give the Pelicans a starting four/ five/ and a three. With the Pelicans pick is go Dunn or Murray depending on who I like more at the time. That's a starting one.

So in one offseason the Pelicans could go from Anthony Davis. To starting one, Simmons, Noel, Embiid.

That's a high potential young team. I'd have to consider that kind of deal if I was them.

Sixers would have severely limited their lineup but as long as they keep okafor I have faith that him and Davis will work it out. They might even draw a free agent or two and that would change the team. But honestly. They team with just Davis and okafor would not be enough. Free agents must be added.

7.) 22 Jan 2016 13:51:07
Sixers:
Start: Ish Smith, Tyreke Evans, Saric, U-Brow, Okafor
Bench: Norris Cole, #4 pick (Jamal Murray? ), Grant, Holmes, Covington, Add two more

In reserve: The ability to flip picks with the Kings and the Kings' future 1st rounder.

Does that make Sixers a top 8 team in the league?

8.) 22 Jan 2016 15:56:37
There is no way this trade ever happens. Embid is not a trade asset to most. And the only lure of getting Simmons would be if Davis was still here. Davis is the franchise, not going anywhere,

9.) 22 Jan 2016 17:19:51
Philly, no where near top 8. The supporting cast of Davis now is better than that, and they are still an awful team.

10.) 22 Jan 2016 19:01:58
They would have to sign free agents to compete in top eight in the league.

11.) 23 Jan 2016 00:40:45
TreGib your right. That turn around of assets to NewOleans would drasticly improve their team for years to come. Plus as you said also the Sixers would be able to lure in some free agents with A. Davis, J. Okafor and who we draft at #4 (Dunn? ) . Add in B. Beal or H. Barnes and I. Smith just passing or driving when they get doubled, I'm sure the Sixers would be good in two seasons (not years! )

12.) 23 Jan 2016 00:57:15
PhillyRich your right.! (thanks! ) I forgot to add in D. Saric. Maybe we could trade him instead of Embiid (TreGib) . That would interested N. O. maybe more.?

But this lineup
PG I. Smith / N. Cole / I. Canaan
SG T. Evans / Dunn / (2nd Rnd pick) or H. Thompson
SF H. Barnes / R. Covington / J. Grant
PF A. Davis / D. Saric / C. Landry
C. J. Okafor / R. Holmes

I'd rather see us trade the second Rnd pick or select (Wayne Seldon or a Center prospect)

29 Jun 2015 02:22:24
OKC and 76ers trade

Philly gets M.McGarry / PJ III and C.Payne

OKC gets J.Embiid

Thoughs???????

neversleep30

1.) 29 Jun 2015 10:28:55
Why the hell would sixers give up a franchise center for that?

2.) 29 Jun 2015 12:42:56
Sixers already have McGarry. His name is Henry Simms.
PJ3 disaster.

So this trade really comes down to a POSSIBLE franchise center for a cocky guard.

Do you really think Hinkie is building up top picks for something like this?

3.) 29 Jun 2015 14:32:28
Junk for a superstar potential guy. Naaaaa

4.) 29 Jun 2015 15:59:32
so you think three of the four doctors Embiid and Hinkie have seen are lying about that banged up foot??

5.) 29 Jun 2015 21:55:24
Neversleep

I think when a player says they re pain free and feeling great they play. Plus those guy in t hat trade are terrible. I would take them for free.

09 May 2015 02:26:09
Sixer lovers what do you think about this one.

Draft: D. Russell

Sign: Iman Shumpert or D. Waiters(CLEV doesn't have cap space to keep him and Waiters, KJ McDaniels, bring back McCrae from overseas and have them all compete for the starting and back up(defensive SG) spots.!

PG D. Russell
SG I. Shumpert / D. Waiters
SF R. Covington / KJ McDaniels
PF N. Noel
C Joel Embiid

Bench
I. Smith
T. Wroten
J. Grant
T. Robinson
H. Simms

Deep Bench
I. Canaan
2nd Rnd Pick
2nd Rnd Pick

*****NOTE*****
If Philly is smart. we package 2-3 of the 2nd round picks to get back in the late 1st round (#`s 37, 47, 58 60)

neversleep30

1.) 09 May 2015 15:51:52
Waiters plays for OKC homie

2.) 09 May 2015 17:17:20
I like shumpert and waiters. I think you me at thunder don't have the money to resign him to a back up role. So that makes sense as well. I wouldn't mind those two guys for sure. And Russell or mudiay. That be a fun team to watch.

3.) 09 May 2015 20:29:41
Waiters is a cancer Brown and Hinkie would want no part of. Waiters was made available before, and sixers showed absolutely ZERO interest in him. Shumpert is an overpriced KJ McDaniels. both are sg's who can't shoot but are excellent defenders. This would be plan D or E for the sixers, if A, B, and plan C don't happen. I wouldn't mind packaging the seconds for a late first rounder, but don't know if you can find a willing trade partner.

4.) 10 May 2015 06:03:59
TreGib
your right, that is exactly what I meant. as well as CLEV don't have the money to bring Shumpert back and as you can see, with playing time shumpert is getting better(jvoug). KJ McDaniel is 6`6 and can defend PG-SF(already proven while with Sixers). so I would pick up KJ and Shumpert. and i'm sure our team will be OK for next year. Not good or basement bumms!

5.) 10 May 2015 13:21:41
I'm with Jvoug. Although I like Shumpert a bit. There's something not quite right about Waiters- very talented though. And KJ is not going to be coming back to the Sixers.

And I think McRae is back from overseas. Looking forward to seeing him. He's built like Kerry Kittles. Hope his has some of his game too.

So two years ago, I was told (as a philly Fan) that Embiid “is worst a first round pick” and that the 76ers will still be the worst team in the Eastern Conference.
Woooooow. Look at Us None!

Thank you for your support, HATERS!

neversleep30

1.) 14 Apr 2018 13:29:29
No one hates the Sixers, though a lot of people think that losing intentionally is a slimy way to build a team. Come back when you win a title and have earned the right to spike the football.

2.) 14 Apr 2018 15:25:54
Thanks for the insight. This was an interesting and worthwhile post. For me to really understand though, I'm going to need to know, how many times have you posted this same thing on an ESPN Facebook post?

3.) 14 Apr 2018 19:31:52
Sixers also drafted picks that didn’t fire but where smart to move them on good exciting team to watch.

26 Jun 2015 09:39:55
Ok, I`m sure all of US (SIXERS Fans) have been patient but this is ridiculous! He said we would be able to make strong push for the PLAYOFFs in our THIRD YEAR. With this roster??

C--- Jahlil Okafor Joel Embiid H.Simms?
PF-- Nerlens Noel Th.Robinson R.Holmes?
SF-- R. Covington J.Grant? G.Robinson3?
SG-- T. Wroten H.Thompson? KJ McDaniel?
PG-- I. Canaan Ish Smith? J.P.Tokoto?

Jordan McRae??

(SIXERS FANS please help me understand this?)

neversleep30

26 Jun 2015 06:05:05
So what did we learn today at the 2015 NBA Draft about Sam Hinkie truly has now plan. examples
Roster:
C---Jahlil Okafor J. Embiid? H.Simms?
PF-- Nerlens Noel Th.Robinson?
SF-- Rob Covington J. Grant? G.Robinson jr?
SG-- H. Thompson Tony Wroten?
PG-- I. Smith? I. Canaan? JP Tokoto? (WTH)

So even with (maybe) 4 first round picks next year, how does he see us making the PLAYOFFS and going DEEP if we DO. ?
((((((((NOT WITH THIS ROSTER))))))))

SIXERS FANS. YOUR THOUGHTS????

I think we (as in the 76ers) have squandered way to many draft picks to REMAIN bad, when we could have used them on talented players in deep drafts like the 2014. if the Sixer really wanted to be, good in two years, they would have taken D. McBuckets at 10 and then traded 2-3 of the second round picks for a late first round. that way atleast we could have a good starting five by the time we get them all on the court. but then again, in the second round we still had multiple chances (Glen Robinson III.) but its obvious the Sixer want to remain bad so that, 1 they don't need to render their pick this coming year to another team and 2 so the pick is high in the draft. (TANK 2)!

if we are going to compete, we need the organization to invest in drafts that mean something, picks that will produce and players that will be on the team and not overseas forever.! PISS POOR DRAFTING. the Chicago trade would have better suited the 76ers if we was SERIOUS about putting talent on the floor.

Actually Monk and Tatum`s shooting abilities play more into the Sixer`s systems then Jacksons slashing ability. If they plan on giving Simmons the ball, then he will need as many shooters around him as possible.

We use our pick (at #4) to draft Tatum bcoz that's way to high to pick up Monk. Trade Rodriques, 2 late 2nd rnd picks 2017 and Sactown 2019 1st for a 2017 Lottery 1st pick and draft either Luke Kennard or Terrance Ferguson. And with our very first pick in the 2nd rnd we pick up either Dewayne Bacon/ Jawun Evans/ Monte Morris or Josh Hart.

This would give the Sixer`s the ability to go deep into there bench. (maybe 9-10) deep.

PG Simmons / McConnell / Bayless
SG Henderson / Tatum / Stauskas
SF Covington / Anderson / Luwawu
PF Ilyasova / Saric /
C Embiid / Holmes / Okafor

If we trade Okafor, Rodrigues and two seconds we could get Portland (20th or 23rd) or Toronto (26th) pick late first round. Then we can get a better SG (D. Bacon or J. Hart), cut Stauskas. and with our 2nd round picks (remember we have 4, two traded) we pick up a project Center or a European stash player.

Saric will be a trade chip now. Ilyasova is much better and will be resigned during the off season. The future is as follows:
Simmons, Embiid, Ilyasova, Noel (unless they get a better deal then the one they have on the table for Okafor), Henderson. we will go into the draft and take the best player (PG or SF) available. This leaves room for us to sign a star at either position for instant firepower, groom the youngsters and allow the team to jell.

Laker fans Noel will stay, Okafor will be traded to either Chicago, Boston, or Portland. so you can keep T. Black (a hustle player at best) unless yall are going to give up one of your young nucleus.

I think it's a FAIR TRADE.
Sixers take his OUTRAGEOUS CONTRACT and in turn get another top5-10 pick.
If we are start we don't wait for him to settle in, we rid ourselves of him from the start. Push idea of him playing for a contender and BUY HIM OUT.! 14-17million$ buyout. He falls off the cap the following year.
But with the pick we could make something special happen. That pick could get us a Barnes or a Beal or how about a Teague or Bledsoe.?

Tre. It's a great idea. But it will take more then that to trade back up to 2nd and also the teams are going to be greedy in this draft because there are seriously only two stand out players. So we would pay a pretty penny to get back to 2nd overal. I would rather try to package some combination of picks to get a proven YOUNG SG/ SF type player. (GS--- Barnes) . Because if they sign him, they will have to let other pieces walk to stay under the cap.

I. Smith / Barnes / Covington / Simmons / Okafor.

See if Embiid will be able to play, if so move him or Noel for a PG/ SG. (Boston or Phx) then use the best bench pieces we have to form a good bunch of backups.
