Yeah, this is horrible for NY. I just don’t understand the need to unload Noah. What is NY doing with that cap space? Signing Lebron? If not, why give up two firsts?
That said, it’s a very Knicks type of short sighted with no path kind of move. That doesn’t make it any less dumb though.

Separate of who's better, both players are UFA's at the end of the year, and unless the Mavs feel like adding Rolo will make them a playoff contender (it won't), you don't give up a lottery pick for him.

Deng is the most likely to be dealt, although LA will want expirings or cap space. I think it will take atleast a first and Randle to move Deng and probably something else.
Reports are the Knicks would like to move Noah and may have some interest in Mirotic. Again it would take some fairly significant assets to get someone to take on Noah.
As a Cavs fan, they could use Lopez, but only if he comes fairly cheap. Something like a lottery protected pick.
I'm not sure what Mirotic is worth, but anyone who needs shooting could use him.

In my opinion, it would take more than just a 2019 first unless it looks like it will be in the top half of the lottery.
They couldn't buy Noah out though. He still has 3years 72ish million left on his contract. They would have to keep him through atleast next year.

It all depends. If they plan on keeping the Brooklyn pick no matter what, the 2018 pick is very expendable, since they won't need their pick to trade the Brooklyn pick. Lopez would be a really solid addition for the Cavs. I think Osman and Zizic would be on the table for sure. Osman is a player that has the upside to become a Danny Green with more pg skills and Zizic has the upside to decent big man.

A stretch are extremely specific and I don't see the point given that they'll be bad for the for the foreseeable future. They're better off having all of the cap space back in 3 years rather than paying part of his contract when they might be a free agent destination and have a chance to be competitive.
