Rockets/ T-Wolves:

Rockets Get: Rubio

Rubio/ Terry
Harden/ Brewer/ Dekker
Gordon/ Beasley
Anderson/ Montejunis/ smith
Capella/ Nene/ Harrell

This is the definition of a D'Antoni team

Wolves Get: Beverly and Ariza

Dunn/ Beverly/ Jones
Wiggins/ Lavine
Ariza/ Rush/ Muhammed
KAT/ Bejencia/ Garnett
Dieng/ Alrdrich/ Pekovic

Great defensive backcourt, Ariza is a nice 3 and D guy for 7 mil a year and comes off the books in 2 years.

Bad move for Wolves, trusting a rookie PG makes getting to the playoffs even harder especially when that rookie PG isn't a sure thjng and he hasn't played against NBA players ywt.

Just start Beverley then. And he can shoot.

So the Wolves downgrade at point guard then to upgrade at a position they don't need an upgrade at?

Waste of Rubio's value.

Wolvesfan, I agree with you but realistically after this year you have a 13 million dollar back up PG. My logic is you mine as well get some value back for him now and get a vet PG in beverly who can easily play 25-30 mins a night taking lot of pressure off of Dunn.

Also I must disagree that the SF doesn't need an upgrade. While Ariza isn't a real difference maker, he does stretch the floor and is an upgrade defensively from Rush.

I this trade, but Houston should also give a protected first round pick.

Rubio isn't an all star but he's a top ten pointguard, his only weaknes is that he isn't the best shooter.

Ariza is a good defender and he can bring leadership, but he's aging, so a protected first round would be fair.

I could get behind that. Maybe top 14 protected?

I just think there's too big of an excess/ need ratio between these two to not at least have the conversation.

But Rubio's value won't go down after this year if Dunn outplays him. So why get rid of him now?

And after this year, Ariza will be 32 so that is a poor return for Rubio.

Valid point, i'm sure the better situation would be to let Dunn develop for a year off the bench.

Ive heard rumblings of Rubio wanting out and that might decrease value (Im reaching here I know), but i'm not sure Rubio is getting you a top 10 pick from anyone for him. Especially with the the over saturation of PG's in the league right now.

But Rubio might be a good fit with D'Antoni who needs one badly.

Rubio has only said in one interview that he would consider leaving if the Wolves didn't make the playoffs. Not really the definition of wanting out.

Rubio a top 10 point guard is laughable. Wolves and wolves fans way over value him. Here's a few that are better, Curry, Westbrook, Irving, lillard, Lowry, wall, Conley, CP3, Teague, IT, rondo, Knight, Bledsoe, (I still would rather have Rose), Kemba, Reggie Jackson. Top 20 PG lol

@ DABULLS. Wiggins is the starter at sf bazz is the backup, realy I don't think ariza is an upgrade over Wiggins so essentially your trading rubio for two backups. Good backups, but rubio can get you a better deal than that.

Rubio is Top 15 at least, better than Knight, Bledsoe is worse than Rubio about actually staying on the court, arguably better than both Teague and Jackson, and Rondo only gets empty stats.

Lol you're wrong about all of those. Look at any comparison or list out together. Out of the five I looked at Rubio wasn't listed in the top 10, 15 or 20 even 1 time.

Really? I prefer to look at stat, don't know what lists you look at, but Rubio is Top 15 in PER among PGs, was second in steals, 5th in assists, 2nd in assist percentage while being 44th in usage rate amobg pointguards, and among the top 10 in rebound rate for PGs. Also received the third most votes for all-defensive team among PGs.

Also 12th in value added and estimated wins added
