I think you have to much going from Detroit to the Knicks for Melo, but it's a decent idea.

Melo isn't worth half that much and really not that great of a trade for Pistons. Also, I don't think this is the direction Cavs need to go. Drummond is an upgrade over TT but Melo isn't much of an improvement over Love if at all once age is factored in. I think if Cavs were to deal Love it would be for more depth and versatile players not Melo who is probably worse as a #3 option than Love since he can only influence the game offensively not on the boards or with his passing like Love can.

No way knicks get that return. Please wake up and take a deep breath of reality. Amd i'm a melo fan. There is a difference between being a fan of a player and a fan of a team. People get emotionally attached to a certain player and feel their return value is waya more then "reallife". The guy males 30 million aftwr his trade kicker, will be 33, plays no defense, and is one of the most ball dominate players of this generation. I just don't get it. Yeah he puts up number, but that's it. Either keep him (which may actually happen) and deal with the fued or dump him to a small group of teams that can afford him (which becomes even smaller when its teams that can afford him AND ones he's willing to go to) . Knicks have zero leverage. Actually less then zero if that's possible. The return won't be fair market value. It just wont. Unfortunately reality is a hard window to look through at times.

or take out Stanley and the pick and just send Harris.

Burger: My point exactly. When I realized the market value for okafor was a lot less then I had originally thought, my trade return value for him dropped considerably. My return for Jah in January was waaaay more then my return for Jah in June. Time to move on.
