OKC - DEN - NOP

OKC get : Malik Beasley, Paul Millsap (exp), 2nd round pick DEN

take a chance on Beasley who can be a good rotational piece on their wings. Millsap will fit in nicely with Adams and can improve their defense more. They lost a late 1st but get a 2nd and some salary relief this season

PG Chris Paul-Dennis Schroder
SG Shai-G.Alexander-Malik Beasley
SF Terrance Ferguson-Hamidou Diallo
PF Paul Millsap-Darius Bazley
CE Steven Adams-Nerlens Noel

DEN get : Jrue Holiday, Danilo Gallinari (exp)

go all in. They are doing great without Millsap & Harris. With Jrue and Gallo coming, they will be one of the favorites to win it all. Jrue will be their anchor defensively with Jerami Grant on the starters. Barton better fits as sixth man on a great team.

PG Jamaal Murray-Monte Morris
SG Jrue Holiday-Will Barton
SF Danilo Gallinari-Torrey Craig
PF Jerami Grant-Michael Porter
CE Nikola Jokic-Mason Plumlee

NOP get : Gary Harris, Andre Roberson (exp), 1st round pick DEN from OKC, 1st round pick DEN 2022

Get a young shooting guard who can develop alongside their young core and 2 picks for Jrue

PG Lonzo Ball-Frank Jackson
SG Gary Harris-JJ Redick
SF Brandon Ingram-Josh Hart
PF Zion Williamson-Nicolo Melli
CE Derrick Favors-Jaxson Hayes

So Denver gives up 2 starters, a bench player and draft picks to get back 2 starters? Seems quite questionable.

Those starters are better.

The Pelicans would probably want more.

Knickjoker, not sure I would say Millsap is better than Gallo. Would peobably say that is a push.

Jrue is better than anyone in the trade.

I don’t think Gallo would be considered a push for Millsap.
Stat wise this year, there's a pretty decent gap. Okc is probably better off keeping Gallo.

So the other 1/2 of this trade is sending out Roberson and a late 1st rounders to get back Beasley, a 2nd rounder and gain some salary relief.

The 2nd 1/2 of the trade makes sense to do if they are absolutely determined to get below the luxery cap this season. Whether they are or if Presti feels its the best deal to obtain that, I got no idea.

But a hard No on the 1st 1/2 of the Okc part of the trade.

Millsap's defense is way above Gallo's. Gallo survives being paired with Adams. Not seeing the same with a Gallo-Jokic pairing.

Ah yes, the great NBA debate.
good offensive vs good defensive players.

I guess it depends on what each team is lacking.
Okc has had good defense and been lacking in the 3 point shooting category, big time
For the Thunder Gallo has filled a really big need while still keeping good D around him.
Seems like the perfect fit for what Okc needs right now.
