Fredman - McDermott is due about $28 million total over the next 2 yeras.

Collins is due over $100 million over the next 4.

Atlanta is stuck with Collin's and that contract.

If Collins is overpaid, it’s not by a lot. 25 mil is pretty decent price for someone who is most likely a 3rd option on a contending team. He’s been a steady 16-20 PPG scorer as well 7-10 RPG on a career FG% of 56/ 37/ 78. This year he was outside the top 45 in salary. He’s right there around Vucevic in terms of average salary, and a a bit above Brogdon and Barnes, which seems just about right for him imo.

@carl. If you want to pay $28 mil for the next too years on a 10pt per game (and nothing else) bench scorer, go right ahead. However, I will pass. You can sign a player that provides that for less than the MLE.

McDermott is on par contractually and performance with Davis Bertans (who is also overpaid) . Washington has to take on Porzingis to move that deal.

Atlanta walks away from this trade. Nothing in it is appealing.
