MD. Going to break it down again. Please follow along.

It's a general certainty that if the Lakers trade Westbrook, it's going to take 2 1st Rd picks. You have this here which is good. What isn't good, is you have Orlando trading Isaac, Fultz, Harris, and a 2nd Rd pick for no return. I get Orlando would need to trade those contracts to take Westbrook back, but those 1st Rd picks are for taking Westbrook back, Orlando needs more for trading the players.

Bro no that second round pick is Lakers pick not Magic pick.

Disagree with Shaq about 2 firsts for Westbrook. Protecting the 2029 first means that if it does not convey, then Magic can only get the Lakers 2029 second. So technically, magic are getting less than 2 FULL firsts for taking Westbrook.

@Fredman you can disagree with me all you want. The Lakers have been asked for 2 1sts from every team they have talked to about Westbrook. Even still, your agreement makes my case stronger. The Magic would be getting the picks for taking Westbrook, what compensation do they get for the players they are trading?

MD you said 2023 2nd Rd pick from Chicago via Magic, but you are focusing on the wrong thing anyway. What are the Magic getting in return for Isaac, Fultz, and Harris? The 2 1sts are for taking on Westbrook. There is no incentive to make the trade for the Magic.

if the Lakers are unwilling to trade 2 future 1sts NOW, why would they do it in January? you think contenders are going to be frenzied to add a walking turnover to their roster? at this point, the players that would go to LA to match Russ's contract would be much better and/ or valuable. the Lakers will either way have to give up something of value or just hold onto Russ for 1 more season and let him walk.
