The Philadelphia dump gets: Bryan Colangelo,Jerry Colangelo, philly ownership group

Sixers get: Sam Hinkie

1.) 23 Feb 2017 19:15:54
Colangelo needs to go he sucks he would've done better by doing nothing

2.) 23 Feb 2017 20:32:22
Hate this gm.

3.) 23 Feb 2017 22:02:19
Anyone who thinks Hinkie did a good job, You're clueless to no end. Any bum off the street can tear down a team and lose! Hinkie is where he should be, NBA unemployed.

4.) 23 Feb 2017 23:44:48
To look at the sixers team now versus when hinkie got there and not think they are in a better position is beyond crazy. People that didnt/ still can't see that have no foresight. When I say "better position". I'm talking about to win a championship, which is what this, atleast to myself is all about. Teams like Washington, Houston, hawks, bulls, grizzlies etc. are content in getting a decent seed in the playoffs every year and then being 1st or 2nd round knockouts. And if that's what you want as a fan then fine, but myself and I hope most would like the opportunity to root for a championship team.

There is only around 4-6 teams every year that have a remote chance at winning the trophy. That's a fact. To be in that group you need to have the best players. That's a fact. All the best players today are looking to play with other really good players once they reach free agency to have a chance to win the trophy. That's a fact. There are also certain locations, city-wise, that can draw players (LA, MIAMI, newyork etc) for obvious reasons. That's a fact. So unless you get these guys through the draft, I would guess that atleast 60 percent of the teams in the league have no chance of winning a championship anytime soon.

Hinkie was taking the only viable way of building a champion based on the current rules in a city that isn't one of those city's that would attract the top guys.

Look at all the high picks (and players) the guy has accumulated versus what has actually been traded away and anyone with half a brain can see that he was a winner in literally every trade that he has ever done as the sixers gm.

Who's your team ECL? let's compare.

5.) 24 Feb 2017 00:40:24
I'm disgusted by the return for Noel. Coangelo basically got Anderson and 2 2nds. Disgusted. Hinkie 2.0 basically.

6.) 24 Feb 2017 01:17:33

Any bum could of gotten a 2nd rounder for illy and Noel. Even the kings gm.

7.) 24 Feb 2017 05:04:49
Worst think Hinkie did was draft Okafor.

22 Feb 2017 15:10:21
If kcp can be had from Detroit.

Sixers get: kcp

Detroit gets okafor and 10-14 protected sixers 2018 1st rd pick

I'd give noel instead of okafor, but then the pick would be the 2020 protected okc 1st rounder.

I think kcp would be a perfect fit with the sixers.

Thoughts/other senarios?

1.) 22 Feb 2017 15:29:17
I'm saying the protection falls somewhere between top 10 and 14.

2.) 22 Feb 2017 15:43:35
Ha! No sixers pass of course.

3.) 22 Feb 2017 15:51:06
Tre, what would be your issue with this senario and what are you looking to get back for okafor?

We have 5 potentially high first round picks the next three years. Roster spots are filling up, and I'd prefer to not be the celtics filling them with dleague mid to late first rounders like james young, zeller, olynyk etc.

4.) 22 Feb 2017 19:43:48
Tre things okafor is a top 5 center in the league and dillusional. The Pistons say no. KCP is a VERY good 2 in the league and just improving.

21 Feb 2017 19:41:54
So I think that there is a real possibility that the kings end up with one of the bottom three records in the league this year after the cousins trade. Currently it looks like phoenix is looking to sell and bkn isn't going anywhere. To me that leaves the the lakers as the odd man out in this scenario, potentially sending thier pick to the Sixers.

Also today news broke that magic johnson has been named the new GM of the lakers. Magic has been open on Twitter about being a Jahlil Okafor fan because of his winning at every level prior to the nba.

This leads me to the opportunity I see there for the Sixers

Lakers get: Okafor

Sixers get: removal of protection from the lakers pick this year.

Reasoning as stated above would be that the lakers may very well lose this pick anyway. So to get something like okafor in return rather then nothing would be a savvy move by the lakers new gm.

For the sixers in this scenario they would end up with two top 5 picks (kings swap) in a "loaded" draft and have thier pick of several nice prospects to continue the build.

Hinkie knows all

What do you think?

1.) 21 Feb 2017 19:58:44
No reason to flip Okafor for something you'll definitely get.

2.) 21 Feb 2017 20:13:26
I don't see you right argument. We give them okafor because the pick is most likely outside of the top three anyway. I'm confused.

3.) 21 Feb 2017 20:20:46
There's still so many moving parts though (lottery, suns actually playing well the rest of the way, sixers not playing embiid or simmons the rest of the way ) that I think it would be worth it to guarentee getting the pick this year in a draft with a class that moreso fits thier needs rather then next year's class.

4.) 21 Feb 2017 20:23:09
I want the pick this year. This guarantees that, no matter where it falls. Everything else I said is just hypothetical, and not reality yet.

5.) 21 Feb 2017 21:25:10
The lakers would be idiots to take the protection off the first. If they keep their pick, then the pick they traded to Orlando becomes two second rounders. So they're basically trading two firsts. Seems like a bad move.

6.) 21 Feb 2017 21:27:50
I can understand that. I'd like the pick too. but why would you if your the lakers give up the chance to keep it for okafor. Next year it is unprotected anyway so the sixers can get it next years as lakers don't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. Even with a top pick this year in a guard heavy draft they already have Russell. I think sixers would like to garentee the pick but with it being unprotected next year the incentive might not be that high. This team is always tanking it seems anyway.

7.) 21 Feb 2017 22:02:37
I'd be most willing to offer them Okafor and the pick for Russell.

13 Nov 2016 07:08:47
Sixers get derozen

Raptors get illyasova stauskas, and the contract of Brett Brown.

1.) 14 Nov 2016 06:21:28
Are you high?

13 Nov 2016 07:06:58
Sixers get derozen

Raptors get tj McConnell, Holmes, 5 2nd Rd picks.

1.) 13 Nov 2016 14:57:48

2.) 13 Nov 2016 16:50:35

3.) 13 Nov 2016 19:45:08
I'm guessing this is a joke. Five 2nd's seems to suggest it. If not, you are terrible at this.

I know the wolves fans on here love these guys, but I'm of the opinion, as are some others in here, that the Wolves should look to move Rubio and something like Dieng/ Muhammad/ or picks to fill that final roster spot in with a stud at PF or C depending which is better for KAT. I'm a huge Dunn can and am pretty confident he's going to be a stud based off watching him all throughout college. I want him to play starter minutes from the jump.

Who does everyone think the final piece to the Wolves starting lineup should be going forward that would make Rubio leaving an easy decision, for Minny and fans?

1.) 19 Jul 2016 15:42:12
I'm already on the record wanting either a stretch 4 like Saric, mirotic, or Marvin Williams. That or an enforcer/ rebounder like taj Gibson ( tho he's too old) . They may already have the former to an extent in Bjelica, and a bench version of the latter in Aldrich, but I feel like one more young guy too play the 4 that can shoot and hit the boards would be the end all for this team. Bench pieces can always be shuffled, acquired, or developed from late 1st round picks.
Id also like to see what guys like Bjelica, Bazz, and Tyus Jones can do with a good coach, instead of the guy who decided, after Kobe had already dropped 70 on his team, that naw we don't need to double him. I honestly believe he cost this team 6-8 wins last year taking over for flip too late to do anything more than run a system he didn't understand.

2.) 19 Jul 2016 16:49:19
they should trade Rubio, if they receive a good offer.
I like the Rubio for Saric idea.
But he could also stay for one more year
they can trade him next year, if there aren't good offers for him.

3.) 19 Jul 2016 17:04:11
Call me skeptical, but years of watching the Wolves and their draft history make me think that very few players are a sure thing, and Dunn is not one of them. Wes Johnson was supposed to be the safest pick in his draft class and we can all see hiw that turned out.

Rubio should be kept until we know Dunn's going to be good, and it doesn't hurt Dunn's development to sit and learn behind a point guard with a high basketball IQ like Rubio for at least a year.

That being said, a PF and bench improvement are what the Wolves need to compete. Which is why I'm against trades that move multiple pieces for 1 player, weakening their bench.

The Wolves shouldn't make a trade this year, but try to target a guy like Blake Griffin in free agency next year and then make any trades to fill other weaknesses.

4.) 19 Jul 2016 20:03:34
Wolves got to move rubio, I believe he a lock to switch teams when he a free agent.

5.) 19 Jul 2016 21:38:07
In 3 years?

6.) 19 Jul 2016 23:02:05
@Darkwing, you don't want Mirotic trust me. And Thibs hates him.

7.) 19 Jul 2016 23:18:40
I think Wolvesfan makes a solid point. If they trade Rubio I think they need some insurance at point back. A Collison, Beverly, Burke etc. to pair with a stretch 4.

8.) 20 Jul 2016 01:22:53
I thought he had his good year under Tommy T. Screw it, is christian laetner available?

9.) 20 Jul 2016 15:10:15
HAHA I love true. Rubio is locked up THROUGH the 18-19 season. but true knows he's going to bail, they got to move fast on this and get rid of him with only 3 seasons left.

Yet again, well thought out.

10.) 20 Jul 2016 15:17:21
A good fit at the PF would be S. Ibaka but he's now in orlando. I think the guy to be traded for another need is Z. Lavine. If you start lavine at the 2, that pushes wiggins to the 3 which he isn't ready for yet and plays better at the 2. Off the bench, I don't know how K. Dunn and lavine will play together. A good starting SF for them would be T. Ariza, D. Green, maybe even a K. Korver.

11.) 20 Jul 2016 17:59:11
You get more value for a player on a three year deal then waiting for an expiring contract.

Rubio stays for the years then the wolves play a certain way then rubio leave they got to play different because there only one rubio. Make no sense he not in there future trade him now there best option.

12.) 20 Jul 2016 18:19:25
Oh man! Killer point! And we all know, once you sign a contract, its slowly expiring. They only have 2 years left before there's 1 year left. GET HIM OUT NOW!

13.) 20 Jul 2016 18:19:25

14.) 20 Jul 2016 18:31:23

Wiggins played most if his minutes at the 3 last year, next to LaVine. So I don't know where you get the idea that he isn't ready for the 3.

And Dunn is a PG, LaVine a SG, they wil play just fine together.

The Wolves need a starting PF, not a starting SF. And LaVine is 21 and has huge potential, not the type of guy you trade for any of the players you listed.

15.) 21 Jul 2016 00:42:15
@Darkwing Yes he did but he played 20 minutes a night and that's inflated because Pau and Jo were both battling injuries down the stretch.

Trust me his defense is second only to McBuckets' D as the hardest thing in the nba.

16.) 21 Jul 2016 12:24:37
^Hardest thing to watch. Two very different sentences.

They added DLo as to get something back for Durant. He'll be the one who is traded if/ when Klay is back and healthy.

The length of Simmons, Richardson and Harris will be just fine imo on the perimeter. Especially with Horford and Embiid behind them in the paint. On paper, they should be atleast a top 5 defense in the league.

Agree they could use another shooter (preferably a combo guard), that can run the offense when Simmons needs a blow. With that said though, with the current roster there's really only like around 15 minutes remaining for a backup PG.

I'd love this move for the Pelicans if they could overpay him for only 2-3 years.
