Winston the wolf 21

1.) 20 May 2016 20:26:28
Why would minny do that?

2.) 20 May 2016 21:03:12
Definitely take Jones out of the deal.

3.) 20 May 2016 21:26:11
#1 this was more a response post to a couple of others that had minny trading the #5 for a forward. #2 because as good as I believe the guards are in this draft they are redundant to the roster. Murray/ Dunn on the bench isn't necessarily the best the wolves can do.

#3 I like Saric. I just do. 6' 10"Hit 40% from 3 93% from the line. Advanced feel in the half court game, good at catch and shoot and coming off screens, Very good Rebounder especially on the defensive end, not athletic enough to guard 3's but will hold his own against 4's, very good on the weak side and with rotations which is key in Thibideau's strong side zone D, won't be great in pick and roll situations against the really athletic 4's playing between towns and Wiggins will help a lot. I like Saric more than Bender and I'd take Bender over Dunn or Murray.

#4 because Shabazz won't survive this, and as much as I like This, I don't think he will either, and this way he gets to play with his Bff Oaka4 while Minny can take someone at #24 strictly for the bench
#5 your right I want the #26 too.

4.) 20 May 2016 22:06:40
Idk much about saric but at 6ft 10 220 I imagine he is a perimeter player but he's like 30% 3pt shooter and 70% free throw shooter which leads me to believe he isn't that great of a shooter. I think that's a steep price for what seems like a project.

5.) 20 May 2016 23:11:10
@jaw: I believe those #'s are from the year he was drafted.

6.) 20 May 2016 23:29:38
Meant shabazz won't survive thibs. And as much as I like Tyus.

13 May 2016 18:31:47
Thoughts from the combine:
Demetrius Jackson-43 inch vertical
Most Execs still have Simmons at #1
Labissiere improving stock with workouts
Ellenson slow and chubby
Dunn and Murray battling for 1st guard off the board
Check Diallo impressing everyone
Bender out of top 4.

Minnesota, Philadelphia

Minn:Noel
76ers: Lavine

Philly gets a young up and coming guard. Minny gets defensive minded big to pair with Towns. Also moves Wiggins back 2 off guard, where he fits better defensivelyrebounding.

Winston the wolf 21

1.) 25 Apr 2016 17:15:00
I like 6'5" point guards. I could see Sixers doing this. They'll have to move a big anyhow if they draft Simmons. Actually, they'll probably have to move a big even if they don't draft Simmons. Saric plays stretch 4.

2.) 25 Apr 2016 18:28:44
Noel is not a PF. Minnesota passes.

3.) 25 Apr 2016 19:28:08
Sixers would ahve to consider it but I think they need more. Lavine has been average at the guard spot 3 assists and 2 turnovers. Sixers need a real guard not just a dunker.

It's close though. Because of lavine a age they may take shot he get better.

21 Apr 2016 13:09:39
From what I hear, Durant to DC is pretty much a done deal, so long as:
A. Thunder don't win a title.
B. Wizards hire Scotty Brooks.

Winston the wolf 21

1.) 21 Apr 2016 19:14:55
Because the best free agent is going to sign to an unproven team full of below average players, aging vets, a dynamic point guard, and a great prospect who can't stay healthy. Sorry ain't happening.

2.) 21 Apr 2016 20:01:16
You don't have to like it, you don't have to agree, but when it happens just remember, you heard it here first. Again contingent on Scott brooks signing to coach.

Winston the wolf 21

1.) 11 Jun 2016 14:48:53
With the 14th pick in the 2016 NBA draft, the Chicago Bulls select: Deyonta Davis, Forward, Michigan State.

Davis gives the Bulls another young asset in their front court and provides them insurance for the absence of Noah and potentially Taj Gibson this upcoming offseason.

The ability to play the 4 and a 5 in an up tempo offense, Davis will likely fit in Fred's new system. While much of his game is still raw, playing alongside of Gibson, Portis and Felico will allow Davis to take a year to develop his game off the bench and work on his jump shot (which seemed to be coming along last year) .

The bulls probably hoped to get someone with a jump shot at 14, and anyone who is about to tell me they could've gone with Malachi Richardson or Malik Beasley is probably right. At this point thought I think they need to go BPA.

2.) 11 Jun 2016 17:01:33
This is fun, let's do the rest of the first round. If you're team that you picked for in the lottery has another pick, you should be assigned to that team.

3.) 11 Jun 2016 17:14:51
We can keep going no doubt. I'm in the middle of garage sale hell right now so if somebody on a comp. could list the rest of the the teams and picks we can hash out who's got who.

4.) 11 Jun 2016 17:42:05
Mark me down as whatever team no one takes. I'll be gone most of the day so I might as well tell you right now.

5.) 11 Jun 2016 18:03:51
Well it took a week to get thru the lottery so I'm guessing no ones in a hurry.

6.) 11 Jun 2016 19:34:29
I'm in, however we should probably just get an early start on 2017, the players from this draft will be ready to retire by the time we get to 30.

7.) 11 Jun 2016 19:36:24
I'm open to take any teams that don't get claimed as well, just assign me whatever when you figure out what we need.

8.) 11 Jun 2016 19:49:42
I missed b out on the lottery, could I get sixers 24 and 26th picks?

9.) 11 Jun 2016 20:11:18
I'll take griz and hawks.

10.) 11 Jun 2016 23:08:38
Ill take Detroit or Charlotte or both.

#1 1997Chicago Bulls
VS
#8 2016 Golden State Warriors

#2 1965 Boston Celtics
Vs
#7 Bad Boys

#3 Showtime
VS
#6 2003 San Antonio Spurs

#4 1986 Boston Celtics
Vs
#5 Shaq and Kobe Lakers

All years are the year they won. The rankings and teams were very difficult to choose. Leaving out the Lakers of the 70's, the 83 76ers and Hakeem's rockets was difficult.

Winston the wolf 21

1.) 11 Jun 2016 00:47:36
You got to give the Warriors a higher seed than that.

2.) 11 Jun 2016 04:42:06
Bulls, Bad Boys, Show Time, Shaq/ Kobe Lakers.

3.) 11 Jun 2016 04:54:51
Bulls V Shaq/ Kobe

Bulls in 7. Phil V Phil and Kobe V Shaq.

4.) 11 Jun 2016 12:19:10
@nba: the seedings were tough. It came down to actual matchups. I don't think the Warriors could honestly handle say the bad boys in seven, they'd get physically beaten down. Those spurs maybe, but what are they going to do about Duncan in his prime, Parker's quick enough to stay with curry, and Manu's long enough to give Thompson fits.
I honestly kinda agree with DaBulls it'd come down to the Bulls Vs Lakers, tho those Celtics would give Kobe and Shaq fits.

NBA TALK MOCK DRAFT:
Order:
#1 Philadelphia 76ers: phillyrich1
#2 LA Lakers: THEKING
#3 Boston Celtics: LarryLegend33
#4 Phoenix Suns: USA
#5 Minnesota Timberwolves: Winston
#6 New Orleans Pelicans: DABULLS
#7 Denver Nuggets: willyboytg
#8 Sacramento Kings: THEKING
#9 Toronto Raptors: Gsess
#10 Milwaukee Bucks: DABULLS
#11 Orlando Magic: NBA (BENSIMMONS NEVER GOT AT US)
#12 Utah Jazz: USA
#13 Phoenix Suns: USA
#14 Chicago Bulls: DABULLS

GENTLEMEN THE 2016 NBA TALK MOCK DRAFT HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN!

PHILLYRICH1: YOU ARE ON THE CLOCK!

Winston the wolf 21

1.) 06 Jun 2016 16:56:50
With the 1st pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, the Philadelphia 76ers select:
Ben Simmons, Forward, LSU.

2.) 06 Jun 2016 17:40:59
With the 2nd pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Lakers select, Brandon Ingram, forward, from Duke University.

3.) 06 Jun 2016 18:08:10
With the 3rd pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics select:

Dragan Bender, Power Forward from Croatia.

4.) 07 Jun 2016 01:01:22
With the 4th pick. Suns select Jaylen Brown.

5.) 07 Jun 2016 02:14:03
With the 4th pick, Suns select Jaylen Brown.

6.) 07 Jun 2016 12:11:50
With the 5th pick in the 2016 NBA DRAFT the Minnesota Timberwolves select: Kris Dunn PG out of the University of providence.
The TWolves front office takes the NBA equivalent of the girl who tells the whole school she wants you to ask her to the prom, rather than the girl you really dig.
That being said Dunn's Defensive acumen playmaking ability strength at the basket and underrated jumper make him a natural fit on this roster. Especially after the Rumblings of Rubio wanting out.

7.) 07 Jun 2016 13:49:42
That girl is typically a skank.

8.) 07 Jun 2016 14:40:21
With the 6th pick in the 2016 NBA DRAFT the New Orleans Pelicans select: Buddy Hield, Shooting Guard, Oklahoma.

Hield falls into the lap of the Pelicans at the sixth pick giving them a guard who can shoot the lights out. While he needs work defensively there is no question of his effort and character. The Pelicans firmly believe that under Alvin Gentry's system his talents will translate into the NBA.

9.) 07 Jun 2016 15:05:47
@phillyrich1: that's OK, everybody wants to have fun at the prom.

10.) 07 Jun 2016 20:07:43
I'd say make a new post for this now and write who has been picked where now.

05 Jun 2016 16:42:24
From the AP: Today's sign the Apocalypse is upon us:
Kris Dunn is reportedly refusing to work out for, interview with or release medical records to either the Boston Celtics or Phoenix Suns in hopes of being drafted by Minnesota.
As much as I want Murray I believe Dunn is Thibideau's preference. And man is it weird to hear somebody refuse to work out with Boston in hopes of going to Minnesota.
#TheEndIsNigh.

Winston the wolf 21

1.) 05 Jun 2016 18:09:59
Winston : The decision not to workout or disclose medical records to the celtics was done for one reason, and one reason only. Marcus Smart is the most valuable backup, injury prone, brick laying, attitude questionable point guard in the history of organized basketball. Dunn would never see a minute of pt.

2.) 05 Jun 2016 19:19:38
I'm not sure how to take that, valuable, injury prone, Brick laying, ? able attitude. Too many contradictions.

3.) 05 Jun 2016 20:51:07
a mix of sarcasm and truth. Celtics fans seem to value him on a whole different level the rest of the league does. He would have been turned into a valuable addition by now if he had half the trade value celts fans put on him.

4.) 05 Jun 2016 22:23:37
Ive been saying the Wolves and Dunn are a great fit. Really hope Thibs can get him. It would be real fun to watch him and Wiggins in that back court.

5.) 05 Jun 2016 22:32:28
Boston and Phoenix have a lot of PG's. Dunn can go to Minnesota and be the back up PG from day 1.

i'll take the nuggets.

2.) 02 Jun 2016 13:35:24
Cool. Willyboytg has the nuggets.

Y'all wanna do this now or wait till Monday?

3.) 02 Jun 2016 14:48:50
Im cool with whichever date. You guys want to do this at night? i'm off work at 5 central time on weekdays.

4.) 02 Jun 2016 15:13:46
Yo let Ben Simmons take the Magic and I'll take either the Kings or Bulls.

5.) 02 Jun 2016 15:18:20
I figured we'd put PhillRich1 on the clock at like Noon on monday (9:00 I believe by west coast standards) do one pick per refresh, otherwise we'll have people making picks by guessing. Averaging one refresh an hour or so would put your first pick at around 4 or 5 central. (Personally its easier for me to do this at work where I generally just sit around, rather than nights, but we all have different schedules) I'm assuming it'll take at least two days to get thru, so if it gets too late we just roll it over to the next day, and if the thread gets too far down just make the next pick in "create new post". There's really no rush to get it done besides the next guys getting all anxious to see who's available and make their pick, but that's half the fun. I'll start by posting the thread here at 11:00 AM central and Philly will officially be on the clock
Sound good? Good!

6.) 02 Jun 2016 15:37:06
We haven't heard from BENSIMMONS yet, Have we? but if we do that's fine, you can take the bulls, you'll have to talk to DABULLS about the bucks.

Should we just insert Thon Maker as the magic pick if he doesn't touch base? Ha!

7.) 02 Jun 2016 15:42:30
Please consider. I'm actually on Asia. So we have different time clock. Let's start.

8.) 02 Jun 2016 16:21:06
@USA again its not like well be in a hurry, just make the pick when you can. If we have to wait a while on someone so be it.
@USA are you going to be unable to do this next week? and where in Asia?

9.) 02 Jun 2016 16:21:06

Hmm, interesting. Wasn't trying to be a jerk its just that at least 50% of the proposed trades I see have some S&T component and it just seems like it rarely actually happens in the NBA.

Is the obsession with sign and trades around here a product of the ESPN trade machine? Can anyone tell me when the last actual sign and trade happened in the NBA?

I'd argue the 4 is his best position anymore. He's still like 240 to 250 or there about, plenty of bulk to play PF.

I actually really like this trade. Wolves get a defensive center, draft Dunn and BPA at 8, sac gets Rubio and a spacer for DMC that can defend. Don't think sac would do it. But interesting.
