Ya right. Although Pacers were able to swing two favorable trades they can't pull off this heist. Why would Bulls ever consider this trade? They have no pressure to deal Butler and certainly wouldn't do it for this terrible offer.

I think Ross is much more than a salary dump. Kid is only 25 and has shown ability to score (inside with ferocious dunks and from 3 pt line) and at times defend since he is a good athlete with good size. Where he suffers is in consistency. His contract at 11 mill especially when you consider the salary cap increase (s) isn't all that bad (you'll see this offseason when second tier guys get paid since a bunch of teams have available cap space and get in a bidding war) . I'd say he has late 1st round or early 2nd trade value cause he still has a lot of upside. I think Ross 9 and 27 is a good offer maybe not quite enough. Maybe instead of Ross they do Powell (a much cheaper option that showed major 3-D potential) Carroll (not cheap and took a step back after injury but maybe going back to ATL he's able to get closer to his old form) 9 and 27 for him. I don't think Raptors do Val 9 and Ross for Millsap and 21. Biyombo's emergence has made Valanciunas expendable but young good bigs don't come around often and I think Raptors would want both or at least not give up so much for Millsap.

The second scenario I don't find believable but I could talk myself into the first one happening if Hawks lose Horford, trade away Teague and want to get young pieces to build around Schroeder. If I were Hawks I'd ask for a little more and may want Powell involved. Maybe Biyombo too on a sign and and trade in place of patterson since I'm not sure how Raptors will keep him and their core with his recent performances in front of a national audience.

Rubio is a great passer (fast brake, or for slow game) and known as a good ball theaf. (12.7 mln next season is going to be considered as a good contract because of the salary cap growth)
Don't forget bjelica who was great in europe and he will be better next season for sure.

Rubio is t an elite defender. He has bloated steal statistics which mask the fact that he is overly aggressive going for the steal and ultimately loses his man and fails on team defense. Rubio is so over rated in this league. He is essentially an average pg. decent defense. Nice distributor. can't shoot for crap. Probably can come up with nearly 10 better pgs.

I agree that if Minny wants Paul George anything less than Wiggins or towns isn't going to be enough, which is why this trade will never happen. Minnesota isn't trading either for anybody. Lavine and Rubio are open for discussion but the twolves aren't trading away 20 year old true 2 way cornerstones for a quick fix, given 2years they'll be as good as any of players they'd be traded for and 5-10 years younger.

BTW, I find it hilarious that you can literally tell who's watched a twolves game by the comments about rubio. Those who have know he does everything but score at an above average rate, those who haven't and just read stat lines talk like he's below average at everything. Hell never be a superstar but wait till his effect on a 7 game series becomes obvious.

Stop acting like Rubio is a top 10 PG in the league, he's not. I'd rather have Curry, Westbrook, CP3, Wall, Irving, Lillard, Lowry, Isiah Thomas, Kemba, Dragic, Beldsoe, Knight over Rubio.

Never said he was top ten. More like 10-15, with above average attributes that would help a decent team win. And perfect for the makeup of his current team. Someone LIKE kyrie or Westbrook would dominate the ball and negatively effect the overall offensive flow.

Shizzee, do you pay any attention to the Wolves? While I agree that the asking price for George would begin with Wiggins so this trade would never happen, to say Rubio is a bad defensive Point Guard is ridiculous.
ESPN's Defensive Real Plus Minus has Rubio ranked 2nd only to CP3, he was again 2nd in steals, and he received votes for the All-Defensive team.

JV each year steady improvement, got better in defence and still manages to have double double without plays for him and he plays better when it counts - playoffs. So he is better than this years 3 pick.
