One more MIN idea, can be done together with one before

MIN-LAC
Muhammad, Payne
2016 LAC 1st, 2016 BKN 2nd (via LAC)

MIN probably not resigning Bazz, who can be upgrade for LAC on wing, and has room to grow, might improve playing on contender; also, fits under LAC cap, they don't have much. Payne is decent bench piece.
MIN can draft Cordinier and LeVert with picks, bolster bench with youth, round up a very talented team.

MIN-DEN draft trade

Barton, #8
#5

DEN get better pick to draft Murray who'd fit excellent along Mudiay; MIN get excellent backup wing, and still can draft talented PF (D. Davis, Cheeks) who'd fit excellent along Towns.

How this sounds, in case PHI lands #1, #4, and #2 goes to BOS

PHI-BOS

Okafor, #4 (Brown/ Bender), Saric
#2 (Ingram)

Bender, Okafor might be long term FC duo for Celtics, PHI pair up Simmons and Ingram.

realEAST

1.) 21 Mar 2016 18:48:17
Too much for Ingram.

2.) 21 Mar 2016 19:21:12
I mean I guess it could be considered "too much" but you also got to think about it this way. Saric and Bender are both unknowns against NBA talent and both going to be rookies as well. And then Okafor is coming off surgery and who knows how that will affect his game or how serious it is.

So for the 76ers to get the top 2 picks in this draft to finally help their rebuild and not stock pile centers might be a good risk. Cause unless they take a guard with number 4 then they are just getting players at positions they already have. At some point they need a real plan.

I'm not saying that this isn't too much for Ingram in fact I think you are right but I wouldn't say that it is so far off. Plus where would you project Saric to even go in this draft?

3.) 21 Mar 2016 19:53:52
Larry. If Sixers get the lakers pick a t four a smart move is to draft Dunn and that way you fill two starting roles in one draft. Saric would go top seven in this draft. Bender hasn't done much and he's expected to go four? So I'm essentially giving up the third pick last year, the fourth pick this year, and the top ten pick calaber player for the second pick in the draft. It's just a waste of assets. Yes we'd have Simmons and Ingram but wat else? Noel? Embiid? Not winning anything more then Dunn Simmons Oakfor and Embiid.

4.) 21 Mar 2016 19:59:10
I taught Celtics might say no, as Philly I'd gladly overpay slightly to solve clogg at C, and pair up those two, they would be excellent combo.
76-ers can still draft Ullis (if he doesn't continue to climb) or Zizic (Embiid insurance) and Cordinier to bolster backcourt.

5.) 21 Mar 2016 20:32:34
I see what you are saying Tre. What about instead of Okafor you guys give Embiid instead? That way you guys essentially are giving up 3 unknowns for the number 2 pick?

6.) 21 Mar 2016 20:36:33
I also would say that Okafor would probably go 3rd this year as well. So I definitely agree with you that trading the #3, #4 and another top #10 for Ingram is way too much.

7.) 21 Mar 2016 20:55:14
@Tre, you are seriously comparing long term potential of Ingram-Simmons-Noel vs Simmons-Okafor-Noel? With or without Dunn (I am not that sold on him being difference maker in NBA), the first one is so much better. A solid PG is easier to come up by, than difference making wing.
If you think this is too much, cut out Saric, but as I said, I'd be glad to overpay a bit to pair up those two.

8.) 22 Mar 2016 01:12:47
Larry

I wouldn't do it with Embiid either. Only Noel as he in my opinion is the weakest of the three and the one that's due to get paid the soonest. So Noel is my odd man out.

9.) 22 Mar 2016 01:15:17
Real east

Not about having those three. You have to have a lot of different really good players to do anything in this league. And not to mention draft picks are so hit or miss the more high level guys you have the better.

So yes I'd rather have

Simmons Dunn saric Embiid Oakfor and Noel

Then Simmons Ingram Embiid and Noel.

Just on pure odds of finding a star alone.

10.) 22 Mar 2016 11:21:14
You have very strange logic, and very biased way of judging players.
Dont need to explain me what it takes to do it in the league. And draft picks aren't as much pick and miss if you scout well, but I guess it is the Philly explanation, for taking three C's in the row.
In any case, I'd rather have two guys with 90% chance of becoming star, than three with 25%. Like the odds more.

11.) 22 Mar 2016 12:18:47
Real east you can say wat u want. It's my opinion that you just as likely to get an Anthony bennett as you a Kobe Bryant or Tim Duncan. Every draft pick you take has flaws. If those flaws aren't fixed those guys aren't stars. If the strengths everyone thought they had actually don't translate either. You have a bust.

Ingram. Looks great. Not strong. Looks super lanky.

Simmons. Can not shoot at all. Maybe any play sf and do he's and undersized pf? Flaws can make or break guys.

12.) 22 Mar 2016 14:45:30
So what's you are saying is that if you had Duncan or Bennett to chose from as prospect, you wouldn't know which one to pick? It doesn't speak much of you.
Bennett was stupid pick, high risk guy who wasn't projected to go ni top 5 otherwise, in very deep draft. It's not that much of luck as you wish to portray it. Especially not with no.1 picks.
That's the point of scouting, to decide if some flaws are correctable or not, and to which degree. And how much room there is to develop even further good facets of a game.
Ingram, not being strong is just 18 and half years old. He'll get there. Meanwhile, he's got great fundamentals, and every other aspect of athleticism, with very good IQ.
Simmons, many problems with his otherwise all round game, cause of jumper, while Giannis dominates being basically the same player. And Simmons being 2 yrs younger. Also, not that worried.
And now, put those two toghether, and let them learn to play each other.
On the other hand, you have Dunn, who is already 22, is pretty athletic, but has no reliable shoot, and is not the greatest decision maker (look at his TOs to asists) . Basically poor mans Marcus Smart. Much, much bigger flaws for a PG, and ones that are harder to correct, since you can't practice BBIQ. And is 3 years older. Not saying he is bad, just you can't realistically compare him with those two. And it ain't luck when they end up being better players.

LAC offseason

#1: renounce rights to Green, Crawford, Moute, Pirgioni, Ayres, ; renounce Dawson

#2: Aldrich and Johnson opt out of minimum contracts; Rivers opts in at 3,3 mil (he'll have Bird rights next season) - this leaves LAC with 12 mil cap space

#3 Draft: #25 Zimmerman, #33: Brogdon

#4 Sign:
Bazemore 4yrs/ 50 mil (last year PO)
Henderson 3yrs/ MLE
bring back Johnson at min

Paul-Reddick-Bazemore-Griffin-Jordan
Rivers-Brogdon-Henderson-Johnson-Zimmerman
(Wilcox-Pierce-Ayres)

Add very good starting SF, and solve bench depth for one last serious run.

realEAST

1.) 20 Mar 2016 15:43:57
Other than those, there is cap hold for Zimmerman (1m) and empty roster spots (4*0.55=2.2m) . Also, teams under salary cap do not have MLE, they have room exception in which they can offer 2-year, 6m deal at best.

2.) 20 Mar 2016 16:02:01
Forgot about cap holds, C. Lee might be more realistic option for wing in that case.

SAC offseason, with Cousins staying in Sactown.

#1 Hire Thibs as coach, or Mark Jackson as second option

#2 SAC-IND: Gay-Hill
(SAC get fine PG on decent contract, and same can be said for IND who forms a formidable FC of Turner-Gay-George)

#3 SAC-CHI: Portis, CHI 1st-WCS
(CHI needs elite defensive big man in long term, and SAC fixes bad fit, also gaining fine pick)

#4 SAC-DAL: Bellinelli-protected 2nd rounder (DAL has cap space, and need some reliable shooting from bench; also, they are vet-friendly team, where Bellinelli would flourish)

#5 Draft: #7: Hield; #15: Valentine

#6 Sign: Bazemore (3yrs/ 50 mil) ; M. Williams (2yrs/ 25 mil)

Hill-Hield-Bazemore-Williams-Cousins
Collison-McLemore-Casspi-Portis-Koufos
(Valentine)

Fine, balanced, deep and team responsible on defensive end; think could reach 6-8th seed in West. If preform well, could be serious factor in FA 2017.

realEAST

1.) 17 Mar 2016 20:57:12
The way Williams is playing this year and with all the money teams will have to sign free agents, I see him getting more than $12.5/ yr. it's a fine team though otherwise.

2.) 17 Mar 2016 21:09:21
They'd have money, they could go up to 15 mil for him if needed.

3.) 17 Mar 2016 21:12:21
True
I think that's around what he'll get.

4.) 17 Mar 2016 23:06:38
Wouldn't trade WCS for Portis and a mid-first.

5.) 18 Mar 2016 10:32:29
Portis is very talented, modern PF. Rather have him, who'll start in year or two, than WCS, who'll play 15 min a game, cause he's a bad fit along Cousins.

NOP-SAC, offseason

Holiday, 2016 DEN 2nd round
2016 SAC pick, Bellinelli

SAC gets ready now, high quality player, while offloading Bellinellis contract, also potentially useful 2nd rounder; NOP gets high pick to reshape squad for Davis

NOP, pick
Hield (own), Luwawu (SAC) - young, athletic, two-way players and good shooters

offer max. Barnes, if matched sigh T. Jones or Teletovic on reasonable deals (2+1, 8-9 mil a year deal)

Evans-Hield-Luwawu-Barnes/ Jones/ Teletovic-Davis
Douglas-Dejean-Pontedxter-Cunningham-Asik

Better fit around Davis, young, athletic, and good shooters, can chase PG in 2017 FA

SAC

SAC-CHI

Cauley-Stein
Portis, CHI pick

Draft: Sabonis, Payton

FA: Go hard after wings, try signing Bazemore, Lee for total of 28 mil a year (16,5+11,5 a year)

Holiday-Bazemore-Gay-Portis-Cousins
Collison-Lee-Casspi-Sabonis-Koufos
(Payton-McLemore)

Ready to challenge for playoffs, also well positioned for future and FA.

Lawson probably getting bought out, who do you think he ends up, and where would he be a good fit.

From a top of a head, Bulls and Knicks, maybe Milwaukee. Heat, if possible?

realEAST

1.) 27 Feb 2016 14:02:45
Utah is a good one too.

2.) 27 Feb 2016 19:33:28
They would be in the mix if haven't traded for Mack, who has performed well.
Also much greater risk of him desperatly returning to alcohol and weed in snowy and boring Salt Lake ;)

3.) 28 Feb 2016 00:29:52
If he was smart he'd go to the Knicks or a team where he can get a lot of time. He's still young enough. Just needs to show his value. Play there this year. Do well snag a good contract next year.

4.) 28 Feb 2016 11:53:08
I'd like to see him in CHI personally, to back up, and occasinally play along Rose, Butler; but NYK seems like better option for him, he'd probably get lot of time, and if he puts in an effort, it could be to mutual benefit.

24 Feb 2016 13:33:18
NYK offseason, going all in for next couple seasons

Afflalo and Williams opt out of their contracts after strong seasons, Knicks renounce rest.
Leaving NYK with a core of Anthony, Zinger, Lopez, Grant, O'Quinn, Calderon; they also keep rights to Galloway and Thomas, as they have Birds for both, and they have small cap hold. (strike a deal with deal with them at the beginning of the agency, but wait to sign it)
After this Knicks have 35 mil in cap space

ATL-NYK: Teague, for Grant, O'Quinn and 2017 first rounder
(Teague might be moved for this since he will be in the last year of his contract)

After trade Knicks are left with around 32 mils cap space.

Go after Batum with max deal and good team to pitch (25 mil starting year, through 4 years)

You still have 7 mil, plus exception (around 5 mil) . If desperatly in need of money, Calderon could be stretched to gain extra 4 mil; but he could be useful backup.

Sign Tyler Zeller to 3yr/ 21 mil
Sign Teletovic to 3yr/ 15 mil (player option in third)
Extend Thomas and Galloway over the cap (I think they could be signed for a combined 12 mil; amount Knicks would be over the cap)

Fill rest with two veterans or prospect D-leaguers, undrafted players or something, could find somebody maybe, but less important

Teague-Batum-Anthony-Porzingis-Lopez

Calderon-Galloway-Thomas-Teletovic-Zeller

In my opinion this is a fine team, could challenge Cavs in the East.

realEAST

1.) 24 Feb 2016 13:42:59
Pick would have to be in 2018. I also don't think batum is worth that much. He's a very good player. I can justify high teens for him. But I don't see him on par with other max players. If the Knicks don't get him cause of that so be it. Throw 18 mill at beal and see what the Wizards do. I just don't know if batum is the missing cog.

2.) 24 Feb 2016 14:16:16
I've been looking about info on that pick; if they give it away, they have three season of 2nd rounders, in other words, three seasons of looking to be competitive.
He'd be getting offers in 20 mil area, I am always writing worst case scenario, that's why 25. I really like him, especially for Knicks because he is very good all around guy, defender, shooter, handler, passer, slasher.

If Knicks are willing to take small risk, stretch Calderon and don't trade for Teague; they would have around 39 mil; offer 20 to Conley, 19 to Batum, 18 to Beal, and see what happens. They'd have weaker bench then, but killer starting line up.

20 Feb 2016 22:35:53
Also, NYK signed Fredette, comitting a steal. Kidding, but think he can be good addition, worth of shot at this stage.
Also, Mavs picking up Lee so d_rainer can be at peace.
What do you think of moves?

realEAST

20 Feb 2016 22:28:10
Bargagnani being waived, where do you think he goes? I'd like to see him with Clippers, he would fit well I think, as stretch big off bench.

This would be interesting for Knicks, especially if picks are not protected, Winslow would be #3 pick this year, Dragic is getting back on track, and would thrive if system is just a bit more adjusted to him; Knicks could go after SG this summer to complete fine lineup.

Pick is worth much more than expiring injury prone player who still don't have clear position. try trading pick for better player than, or even extend rondo, but this is the worst option.

First of all, 40-24=16, not 25.
Also can't combine trade exception with player to get one on higher salary. You can only add draft picks and rights to drafted players.
