Sixers get derrick williams, and nik stauskas

Kings get heat 1st, two 2nd round picks from philly

The Sixers would not do this now. Hinkie will use this week to do the same thing he did at last year's trading deadline. Trade players who are doing reasonably well and therefore have value to contenders for picks. Also assume some bad contracts from other teams (and waive the players) for picks or other cheap assets. He has no desire for the team to improve on the court right now. Next year when we have Embiid plus 2 more lottery picks and maybe Saric, he will let them try to win. For now, expect the 2nd half record to be worse than the first.

I also see Stauskas as a Sixer. Kings have new coach and its time to shake things up.

Sixers will not give up those picks for him. They may give up KJ McDaniels, the expiring contract of AK47 and throw in a 2nd.

Kings get an athlete, Sixers get a shooter that needs a fresh start.

Kings at end of year can wipe their hands of KJ and AK and still have a 2nd rounder while clearing Stauskas from their roster. Or, they can keep AJ and the 2nd.

Its a win-win.

Why would the sixers trade a lotto pick (possibly). especially when they could draft a player that has a higher talent ceiling than both of those players. and this also goes against hinkie's philosophy, he wants to acquire 1st round picks not trade them away for average players that'll arguably be coming off the sixers bench if they'd get traded there, maybe stauskis starts but certainly not derek williams, sixers are at the rebuilding stage in which they need to find players capable of starting, their bench won't need anymore help when those players come in.
