1. That is too much for Rubio

2. This trade doesn't make sense for either team involved

While Rubio can't finish his shots, he is an excellent defender, gets a ton of steals, and has one of the best on court/off court numbers in the game. He makes his four teammates much better by his tremendous court awareness, and ability to pass the ball to players where they can succeed. I doubt the 50th round of these Rubio rumors are true, because his passing ability speeds up the development of all the young Wolves. If Rubio (25) can even become an average shooter, he is elite in all other aspects of being a PG. This offer is not "too much" for Rubio.

That said, Marcus Smart is a good place to start. He's young, and the Wolves would definitely need a PG returning. Tyus is too young and small to start, Andre Miller is too old for major starting minutes every night, and LaVine was pretty bad as a PG last year, and should develop as a SG.

I don't think the other pieces compensate for Rubio's upside, or even Rubio now. And like I said, I think this is just another summer rumor where writers have nothing to say. That said, I think there is a basis for a deal in the posters deal.

If you wanna know how biased fatpat is, even wolvesfan knows that is too much for rubio and here he is saying that this isn't nearly enough for him.

First the major problem with Rubio is his contract. I like his defense and love his passing, yet his is paid big and having shooting problens for years. Fron this trade Young is bad, PJ3 is a filler and Olynyk is a solid rotation player. But Smart is a pg I would stick with to see how good can he be. He will never be better than Rubio in some things yet Rubio will probably not get any better so overall Smart may be a better player and is a better contract.

It's not about what rubio can or can't do, it's about rubio not doing much in his NBA career so far. And the money he has makes it a bad contract.
