News that b beal and Washington are far part on a contract extension. This is the perfect time for teams to try to make a deal.

Trade

Bos - was

Bos - b beal m Webster

Was - I Thomas e turner first rd pick

Boston trade for beal then sign him to an extension.

Not enough for Washington to part with beal so quickly. Maybe smart and turner.

Why would Washington break up a great backcourt duo just because they have a little trouble in contract talks.

I really like this trade. Beal has more upside than Thomas and turner. As long as it is the least favorable of bostons first rounders in 2016 draft.

Of course you like this trade. Because the celtics rob the wizards of a top young talent for 2 decent players and what you claim would have to be the worst 1st they have.

@kiks to answer your question. Washington doesn't want to sign b beal to an extension now because they want to see if they can land k Durant first. Players want their money and want to get paid now. He doesn't want to wait until Washington's plan A fail for him to finally get the contract he feel he deserve

Beal wants a max deal but hasn't proven anything yet. He has shown the potential to possible be one of the top young shooting guards in the league but has not been consistent enough to make the wizards believe he will be. With them pursuing KD next summer, they will have to decide between the two because they cannot afford to pay beal and KD the max salary on top of walls salary and the other guys they have on the roster. The need to trade now or around the deadline so that they truly pursue KD and get value for beal. Thomas/turner and a first might be a little low but not that much. Washington holds little power in this negotiation and will have de. To sell a little low. The worst of Pistons 3 first rounders will probably be a 16-17 overall at the lasted two so it's not that bad of a pick. I would honestly even offer any combination the 3 of Thomas/Bradley/turner/C's own 2016 first round pick. If they want all three players great if they want to players and a mid first rounder awesome, either is a fair offer. Thomas is a proven sixth man, AB is a great defender and good second/third offensive option and turner is a solid all around player on an expiring contract. Lots of value to a team going after the biggest FA fish out there.

How is putting up around 20 ppg in the playoffs not proving anything. Oh and btw he is only 22.

Who knows if the playoffs will be the norm going forward or if he will continue to be inconsistent. That is all I'm saying. Could he be one of the top shooting guards in the league IF what he did in the playoffs continues? Obviously. But what if he regresses to the 14-16 points a game he had during the regular season? Then he becomes an overpaid kris Middleton. That's all I'm saying. He has shown a glimpse of being great, hasn't proven that is where he will end up. If he balls out all year then he will be worth every penny of the max offer he wants. Doesn't change the fact that the Wizards can't afford him at a max on top of the rest of their roster and chase KD.

He hasn't lost any value. Even though you want to argue that he has. Beal is a stud. And has super high value. Move on.

But he is only 22, and the playoffs matter more.
