Not a fan of it for either team. I think the Clippers could get more and not give up a young player, while going through atleast a mini rebuild. I also don't think it really helps the Mavs given the fact that they aren't competitive right now, they have a young team and Jordan probably walks at the end of the year. I guess since they don't give up much, they could just be looking to bail on Mathews contract, but I don't think it would be impossible to move given his defense and shooting ability. 2 things every contender could use more of.

The Clippers could get much more for a Deandre rental than a bad contract and 2 role players who may or may not see time with the Clippers. If they're trading a 1st team all nba center who is always top 2 in rebounding, they're going to get a young good player or a pick in return.

I agree they can probably get more but I don't think it will be much more, since he's a major flight risk and will likely command major money and years on his next contract, which as a player entering his 30's and likely on the decline of his career is a huge risk to become a terrible contract in the near future. I think the clips will be hard pressed to find a deal in which they receive any assets of high value in return.

Deandre is being hyped for some reason. He cannot shoot. I would rather keep Mejri, and the friendly contract. 20 + million and a player option for Deandre is not a good deal. He'll be opting in for sure. Marc Gasol if obtainable, is a better value, but couldn't be had for what Dallas can give, except picks, maybe. Doubt Dallas would part with picks during the rebuild.
