So Chicago gives up a young guy with promise and a contributor in Young for a 2nd? Yeah does not seem right.

I'm guessing that 2nd is the assumed second overall pick, not a second-rounder.

Why would Detroit give up the number 2 pick for Hayward and a late first? That seems horrible for a rebuilding team.

Hayward isn't going anywhere.

JoeB is probably right too. Hayward is playing great (17, 7 and 4; 39/ 50/ 88 shooting percentages) . And he's a great third option. He's a lot like Klay, he's just too good at being a side kick to let go.

No way Hayward better than Klay Thompson ;>.

I think heyward opts out and takes a pay cut but wit more years like 5 years 100 mil.

I can't see him getting that little. He wouldn't get less than Brown just got (which means that they likely can't afford to keep their top 4 players long term) .

I think there is mutual interest in Hayward staying long term in Boston. Whether that means he opts out and renegotiates a new deal or plays it out, takes less money or whatever. Only time will tell. One thing i do know, Tatum will get his money.
