Orlando - OKC

Fournier and Marble (waive) for Novak (exp) and '18th 1st rp

After their recent slump, guessing that Orlando should stop dreaming about playoff and switch to development mode. Fournier is RFA this summer and I don't feel like they should match expected 10+M offer with Oladipo and Hezonja waiting in line so trading him right now to provide more minutes (and even more important more offensive shares) for Hezonja and Gordon so solve some questions floating around those two before end of the season. And considering that Durant, Westbrook and Ibaka are going into FA during next two summers, that '18th pick could actually become very interesting asset.

Acquiring Fournier could be a step closer for OKC to Warriors and Spurs, making him best two way SG on the team who is also able to provide some minutes after KD at SF. Not sure if they would insist on some protection of the pick but in that case Orlando would easily find better offer for Fournier elsewhere.

Marble and Novak are just fillers to make salaries work.

Useless, OKC won't even be able to re-sign Fournier in offseason.

First of all, the point for OKC with such a trade is obviously in making as strong ring push as possible in KDs contract year as this could be their last chance for a while. Also, if they are ready to pay some (huge) tax, resigning Fournier shouldn't be a problem considering they can always use Bird rights to resign Durantula after. they should be at 67M (assuming they will let Augustin and Morrow walk when free agency starts) . With the estimated cap at 85M, they can muatch up to 18M for Fournier (which should be more then enough) or any other free agent (s) in case they are better pickups in free agency in same money range and still be able to resign KD for max.

The point is they wouldn't do that because he is t worth that much.
