This is more of a personal preference. I

think philly passes. It's too much to give up for Thomas.

We're talking maybe three high firsts for a guy who is under 5'10 and is ball dominate. We have Ben Simmons and he once healthy will be the ball dominate player on this team. So I'd rather have the firsts and use them to draft a sg and sf who can shoot to go with Embiid and Simmons.

Philly is the only team that could pass
But it isn't that much, they give up

The LA pick could go top three this year, so they can only receive it in 2018. LA has a good young core, they can draft another great prospect and they can hit the free agent market next year, so that pick, could become a late lottery pick, or a late first rounder.
Philly could get a higher pick than sacramento, so they wouldn't swap next years pick.
In that case, they could receive an All star for a late first rounder and a late lottery pick. that's a gamble they could take.

Chicago receive two top picks and Gay is a cheap rental, they receive capspace next year.

Sacramento can rebuilt and has a future again.

Why would bulls sign wade and rondo and then trade butler so they can rebuild?
