Offseason trade idea, assuming Minnesota keeps their 1st round pick and it is in the 8-12 range.

Minnesota trades Shabazz Muhammad and their 1st round pick.

Philadelphia trades Robert Covington and a 1st round pick (either Miami or OKC) .

Sixers say yes.

Shabazz is better than Covington, and both of those picks are going to be deeper in the draft than the Wolves, why would they make this deal?

Yeah, this trade makes zero sense. So the wolves give the better player and the better pick? Of course the sixers say yes, it's a no brainer.

Sixers probably would do that deal without any issues. I don't know why the wolves who think Muhammad is a superstar. (Even though he won't ever start) . Would do that deal.

What stats suggest that Shabazz is better than Covington?

The eye test and potential. Shabazz has a MUCH higher ceiling, and is at worst as good as Covington right now. If shabazz was on the 76ers he'd be starting and probably be putting up 15-20 per game.

Well my eyes read actual statistics and not just draft position.

Even based on stats from last year both Shabazz and Covington were right around 13ppg, but Shabazz did it on about 23 mpg while Covington did it on closer to 29, and Shabazz shot better from 3 and from 2.
