Portland: I. Shumpert, I.Thomas, V.carter, 1st rd. Pick (Portland) from Cavs.

Cavs: D.lillard, Z. Randolph, Nurkic

Sacramento: T.Thompson, 2 future 2nd round picks from Portland.

Defense in Portland, Cavs get scoring, and D, plus Nurkic is young, and a better shooter than Thompson. Sacramento flips aging veterans, for a young veteran, and future picks.

I'm not sure Portland gets enough here.

Depends on Portlands finish. I assume they would tank. Vonleh instead of Nurkic maybe? Attempted to not let Cavs lose some rim protection. E. Davis, and Leonard are good enough defenders, but not rim protectors.

Portland gets completely screwed. I’m not sure I’d give up just Nurkic for that package, let along Lillard. Thomas is on an expiring deal and has a major injury. Shumpert has basically no value considering his contract. Just a horrible return.

Portland get screwed indeed :-) .
they should get the Nets pick, if they're going to tank.

Bmiller66 giving Lillard 30 mil a season for a guy who gets picked off on screens as easily as he does makes trading him difficult. Kyrie is ten times the player for as much money. They are looking at giving a lottery pick to the Cavs if they don't do something. Nurkic is still learning, but is always in foul trouble. Watch Lillard, and Nurkic attempt the pick n roll, it's atrocious. Lillard isn't a clever passer, and Nurkic hasn't been consistent from the perimeter. Swanigan has more upside, maybe Collins too. I agree though on they are valuable players, but both need distractions, their weaknesses aren't exploited so easily. Building around Lillard alone is a mistake.

Portland does not owe Cleveland a pick. Not sure where you’re getting that from, but Portland owns all of their firsts moving forward right now.

Also, Lillard is a top 20 player locked in for the next 4 years. Trading him is incredibly easy if the want. He has immense value.

And for Nurkic shortcomings, he’s an elite defender and a decent offensive player and still on his rookie deal. Again, he has big value.

You undervalue both of those guys a lot.

Portland traded 2018 1st rd. Pick to Cavs for their 2017 1st rd. Pick. Which I believe was Swanigan.

Nurkic hustles, and maybe doesn't have enough help, but he has been in foul trouble in almost every game this year. When he gets that fifth, the other team guts the blazers.

I like Nurkic, and I like Lillard. Not the way I like Boogie, AD, K. Irving, PG13,Porzingis, Kawhi, Durant, James, CP3,Harden, Dr. Green, Curry, Beal, B. Simmons, Antetonkounpo. Attempting to find a way to help teams help themselves. Pro Sports Transactions is where I got the pick info. Check for yourself. If Portland doesn't make moves, and other teams players stay healthy, they will find making the playoffs difficult. My opinion is just like everyone else's. If I'm stupid in your eyes I can handle that Bmiller66. Been called, and thought of worse I'm sure.

Portland traded the Cavs 2018 pick that they owned for the Cavs 2017 pick. It was never portlands own pick.

Nurkic is also 23. Foul trouble is common in young bigs, that doesn’t mean they should give him away, especially if they’re rebuilding. You don’t trade talented young bigs to rebuild.

I’m not completely against moving Lillard (ok, I kind of am), but not for this return. How does this return chance portland’s Future? They get a worse PG on a shorter contract with injuries? They get useless vets? If they move Lillard they’d want an elite prospect and a high end pick. Maybe something like Fultz, Saric, and 2 firsts from Phili.

@Bmiller66 couldn't find anything, or other team to make trades with Portland that will keep them in the playoff picture. Portland has assets, not a very good team. Nurkic, Lillard, Swanigan, Collins, Mccollum, Aminu, Conaton. 2 guys on that list don't play. One I had no idea of until 2 weeks ago. 2 seasons of playoff sweeps at the 8th seed had me thinking they wanted to improve on that, but maybe not. Their other players are not good, and no one trades lottery picks. Did my best. Proposing a realistic trade to improve fringe playoff teams is hard. Give it a shot. Then I'll either criticise, or praise. LA is gunning for the 8th spot this year, so your blazers had better start beating Dallas, and Phoenix, and Brooklyn, and all other non playoff teams. It's even harder to appease Portland fans. Sorry, Portland fans whine quite a bit up there. You should, 1977 is a long drought. 1991 was the last time you guys had a shot I think? Long time. Pelicans in the same Boat. They could be relocated even. Maybe the new Seattle. It's like trades involving NY, they are ok with Noah not playing, because they are content with the lottery this season. If I was a knick fan I would demand AD for our 1st rd. Pick. What are you going to do? I'd way rather have Porzingis than Lillard to build around though.
