Spurs clear cap space and Sixers get much needed shooting, good trade for both teams.

Is green that much better than covington?

Maybe green for H. Thompson instead with the 26th pick, idk, but a lot of sixers fans on here seem really high on Covington. Other than that I like the trade for both teams as SAS may look to dump greens salary to chase amother star.

Makes sense but then who starts at SF?

I think the pick alone would get it done.

Well that's what I mean. with it being a salary dump, the first round pick should be close by itself,

Yes Green is much better than Covington. Classy vet who plays good defense and could hit the three. Sure he a below average year but for the Sixers, he's a guy you want. Covington doesn't have much value to any other team in the league besides the Sixers. He's inefficient. Solid defender and three point shooter sure but not much else.

Green is paid too much. 10 mil for a guy who does the same thing as the 1 mil Covington. Sixers pass.

Theking-
The only thing you said different about both players is that Covington is inefficient, but he prolly has played more minutes and taken more shots. Covingtons contract is crazy good, and we wouldn't see his name mentioned so much on here if he didn't have any value.

@TreGib D. Green is actually under paid at 10 mil per. D
. carrol getting 15 mil per year and he's doesn't do more than green.

Covington is a career 34% 3 point shooter, green's career average is 43%. Green is a considerably better defender. How in the world are they the same? Oh yeah, and green has championship experience.

Carrol does just as much as green.

Nobody said they were the same Ben. Its just when you factor in that green is being paid 10 times more then Covington and they both do similar things on the court, they become pretty close to the same.

No need to throw in a 1st rounder.

TreGib said "they do the same thing". You said "pretty close". 9% three point difference is a huge difference. The experience is a huge difference. The defense is a huge difference. Covington might be underpaid, but I'd take green at 10 million over Covington at 1 million all day every day.

Also, you said "you wouldn't see his name come up if he doesn't have value", but literally no one but 76ers fans include him in trades unless he's a throw in with no value change.

Ben-
Both statements are true though. They are both 3 and D guys alla "they do the same thing".

Most of the time it isn't Sixers fans trying to make him a throw in in these trade scenarios. My only point was that pick 26th should get green in a salary dump situation which would be the only reason the spurs would trade him. Covington isn't a throw-in.
